Final Fantasy XII 10/31/06 (USA Release)

Just posted this in the hot deals thread....but those of you planning to pick it up tomorrow, head to Circuit City to save 12 bucks. They overstocked and are selling it for 37.99. Can't beat that!

I've bought every final fantasy game ever, but I think I'm skipping this one, I havent finished the last few....shit just gets way too time consuming. If i put it down for a few days, I completely forget what I was doing.

no wai...that doesn't seem like much though isn't this supposed to be one of the most intensive (time consuming) versions? Where did you DL it? Post some screen caps nga.

Heck, I just started FF X and I can't even get off the damn boat. Why would I want to spend $50 for another game where it seems that characters move off screen in comic strip fashion? (Jumping from panel to panel.) I'm hoping that FF XII won't be like that, a weird camera angle where monsters can hit you from off screen. (Kind of like Xenosaga III where you seem to travel diagonally. The Japanese girl voice "cuteness" wore thin after about 3 minutes of play.)

I'm really amazed that Sony didn't make FF XII a PS3 exclusive (like Halo 3 can only be played on the XBox360.)

I guess I'll spend a few hours tonight reading reviews. But they don't always say what it actually feels like, like in the case of Xenosaga III, and even if they do say so, it never is as bad as it seems until you actually play the game and feel the controls.

So, guys, I'd like to know if you really do have 360 degrees of motion (like Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Dragon Quest VIII) or if it is more of a 45 degree third person type game (like FF VII). Yeah, I never finished FF VII.

I'm about 7 hours into it. For some reason I don't have much of a desire to keep going. I really enjoy it while i'm playing, but i'm not always going back for more

Well....how is it? I am still VERY tempted....I mean, I know going in that I'll play about 5 hours of it and probably never touch it again after thinking it's amazing and telling everyone else....that just seems to be what happens to me with RPG's these days....

I really think I had more fun with final fantasy 2 and 3 and SNES than I do with the newer ones.

FUN FACT: Did you know that they stopped making Final Fantasy 7 because of it's terrorist theme - and it now goes on ebay for some pretty decent money?

They sold tons of copies of it, but I'm guessing at some point they said "Ok, practically everyone has this, we can probably cut back a little..."
