final drive oil

i just changed my final drive fluid. i was told by some dumb ass in the shop that i should, "put the whole goddam thing in there!" i had put maby 300 ml in it till it over flowed a lil. should i take some out? or just go with it:horse:

The proper level is to the top of the fill hole with the bike level.

Fill it till it starts to run out. Also, when you do fill it make sure the bike is almost upright. I normally just put a 2X4 under the side stand when I change mine.

Your right, I did assume - it could be a gallon!!! Dude, I was just joking and I did assume a quart since most gear oil comes in quart containers.
