Final destination

Well just finished a week of final destinaton watching! FD3 last sunday, FD1 last night & FD2 tonight.

Made me realise how FD3 isn't linked to the other 2 at all really not like how FD2 is quite strongly linked to the first.

Anyway I think FD2 is best, it has more of a story, followed by FD1 for it's originality then FD3 because it completely lacks a plot and storyline.

Good series though and I actually still think there's room for a few more.
 
Enjoyed watching the second one again even though I have both the 1st and 2nd on DVD.

Saw the 3rd one on saturday and I really enjoyed that too. The deaths were brillant in it.
 
Ha, does anyone see the article above about Cameron Diaz "cheating death". She better watch out!
Anyhoo, I think maybe the first FD is better than the third cos the actors are much better and more well known.
 
Haven't seen 3rd but saw 1st & 2nd one last night. I defo enjoyed 2nd best. It was more upbeat & the deaths were hillarious.:)
 
I actually found the 2nd to be slower. I really, really, really love the original. So I'll always defend it to the death. Oops, wrong choice of worRAB there maybe. But the first one just has more likeable characters, better plot and better shocks. There was not one moment in the 2nd film that shocked me. And at times it got really dull. I also have resentment for the film because they killed of Alex in between. :cry:

The third one is absolutely brilliant, and it's clear that the first and the third had the same directors, because the style is the same, and there are actually a few twists and shocks. Definitely my second favourite out of the whole series.
 
Watched both 1 and 2 this weekend and wasn't really surprised to find the 2 was absolutely dire in comparison.

What is it about horror sequels that they seem to set out to make a pastiche of the original? The death scenes went from quite shocking and intense in 1 to being hilariously absurd, over the top and unrealistic in the second one.
 
The first one shocked me a lot more, I had to hide behind my hanRAB at some points :eek:

The second one, I thought it wasn't gonna be as good, but I liked it about the same. Although there was no part that shocked me, I was on edge all night after :eek:

I should be seeing the third one this week sometime :) I'm really looking forward to it
 
I saw the first 2 on telly and I was brave because horror films usually terrify me. I liked both but probably the 1st a tiny bit more.

I liked the way the second one related to the first but was disappointed that Alex and Clear both ended up dead anyway. I also missed the looming black shadow that appeared just before the deaths in the first one and the premonitions in the 2nd looked more fake.

I had trouble accepting that the deaths in the 2nd was death's plan as they seemed to make the things happen themselves. Unlike in the first when they had no control over what happened to them, in the second the premonitions caused the deaths. If Kimberley hadn't seen pigeons then the guy wouldn't have ran towarRAB them and got crushed. If they hadn't seen the shadow of the hook man then the woman wouldn't have freaked out and died. In the first the premonitions allowed them to prevent death (e.g. pulling the man out the way of the train).

I also would have preferred the baby's birth to put an end to it rather than just reviving Kimberley as Alex also had to be revived in the first but that didn't stop the deaths.

I still thought the second was a good film due to the links it made but i think it was a mistake to make a third that apparently isn't linked at all.
 
This is what I don't get. In the 2nd film Kimberley figures out that if she dies, then comes back, death will be happy and she'll get to live the rest of her life. But, Alex died in the first one after getting an electric shock, and yet death still came for him when they were in Paris, and later with a brick. Did the writers hope we wouldn't notice? :rolleyes:
