Final Destination 1, Final Destination 2, Final Destination 3 & 4?

I was looking at www.amazon.com and i noticed something weird, a Final Destination 4 novel titled Dead Man's Hand. What i would really like to know is that are these the novels from the movies? then do they take ideas from the novels and turn them into live action movies?.

If you look at the front cover on the book Final Destination 2, did you notice that the car was on fire? and there was a girl on the cover? it almost looked like the car pile up in final destination 2 movie.

Sorry if this is old news, but i am always late finding out things.
 
The books are based on the movies (if you click on book 1 it says 'Based on the hit film etc etc'. I've only seen the first film, but it's definitely not the storyline from it (the film's storyline was WAY better)
