That we are. :eyebrows: Most Sashas I've seen in movies tend to be killers/assassins. Ah, how cruel to be taunted by my one desire in life! :sigh:

You know, I just don't hear about movies until they're pretty much on us. I don't know why that is - I'm all over movie sites and all, and you people let me know stuff frequently, but I guess I just don't retain it.

So anything I'm looking forward to already has a thread, for the most part. :D

It was not bad. A bit dark, but her life was. I remember turning on the TV at 11 in the morning and it had just started, so I sat down to watch it... it's not really morning TV fare, but it was rather compelling, and I watched the whole thing despite not much interest in any of the main actors or Sylvia Plath - so it must have been pretty decent! (Sorry I can't help you more, it was a long time ago now and I don't really remember). Hope this helps.

Victor/Victoria is a good film. I like when a male/female has the same name like Steve/Stephanie, Michael/Michelle, or when a girl has a boy name and a boy has a girl name. It amuses me.

 they prob think all people named Sasha are naughty.

I'm looking forward to RENT. I love musicals and this one looks promising.

All the above listed movies in this thread look great too.

 When I saw the characters' names months ago, it reminded me that it's been a long time since I've seen Victor/Victoria. I always like it when characters have my name in movies, too. They're usually the bad guys, though. :D

I've always wanted to watch Sylvia. I guess I've always been curious about how a movie script would tackle Sylvia Plath's life. Yet, I'm never able to watch it. I always forget it when I'm renting.

Stay. My number one reason is cause Ewan McGregor is in it. My number two reason is cause the story sounds interesting and I read it's very confusing. I love confusing movies that make you think. I also read some good things about the script too.

This movie focuses on the attempts of an Ivy League Professor to prevent one of his students from committing suicide.

I really want to see "Guess who" with Ashton Kutcher. I saw an ad for it when I was in the movie theater for the last time( which was "Bewitched") and I was laughing from the first minute :)

And I also want to see "Elisabethtown" with Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst. Seems like a pretty good movie.

They are both starting here tomorrow, and now I have to decide in which one to first :D

'capote'.....i saw the trailer in a theater yesterday.....it looks interesting.....and i've alway's like philip seymour hoffman....

you can watch the trailer here.......

this movie looks good and has an interesting concept. Plus my name is used in it which is always a plus :D

My number one film I want to see is "Brokeback Mountain" simply because it will be the first, mainstream Gay-Themed film that has major, A-List stars in it.

I am not Gay, but am sick of {EDITED - see below } who think they are morally superior to everyone else (yet who spread hatred and biggotry in the name of the Bible and use Mel Gibson's mockery "The Passion of the Christ" as proof they are the majority) and who are ruining this country and the rest of the world through George Bush and everything else they've done.

It is time for the United States to take the next step in tolerance and having a mainstsream movie like this with well known, young stars is a step -- no pun intended -- in the right direction, imo. Plus, it just looks like a well acted, well done story first and foremost, controversial subject matter notwithstanding.

EDITED - sorry, but naming a specific group with such inflammatory language definitely falls into the category of bashing. I'll send you a PM - you know I like and respect you so this is hard to do but I have to stick by the site rules, and I believe in those rules. It's the only fair thing.

Woah, I didn't even know they were making a Saw III. Didn't the guy who came up with the Saw movies die? Or am I just making things up again? (it's been known to happen)

I want to see Zoom, because I love Tim Allen and for some reason it reminds me of Galaxy Quest which I adore!

Harry Potter!!
Harry Potter!!!

Same for me, only replace The Illusionist and Edward Norton with The Prestige and Christian Bale.

But I'll be seeing The Illusionist on Friday with some friends.

Also looking forward to The Departed and Saw III. The former has an interesting plot and a decent trailer, which was shown with the last few movies I watched; so maybe exposure has an effect as well. Though I'm not into horror movies, I want to see the latter simply because of how much I enjoyed Saw II.

'everything is illuminated'...elijah wood stars....i've seen the trailer more than once in a theater....it looks promsing........it's an independent film.... elijah gets a chance to play roles other than hobbits.....and i'll get to see if he can do other characters just as well...

plot....
A young Jewish American man endeavors to find the woman who saved his grandfather during World War II in a Ukrainian village, that was ultimately razed by the Nazis, with the help of a local who speaks weirdly funny broken English.

get a light here....

'paradise now'

what's it about?....

Saïd (Nashef) and Khaled (Suliman) seem like ordinary Palestinian guys: they work in a garage, they smoke hookahs... and they’re so committed to their country, they’re prepared to die for it.

This absorbing drama follows them in the hours leading up to a planned suicide bombing in Tel Aviv, making their everyday actions strangely poignant. There are effective moments of dark humour — during the filming of their martyr videos, their recruiter happily munches on a sandwich as they passionately declare their wish to die for freedom.

this will be the second film that i've seen about suicide bombers.....the first one is a film called 'the terrorist'......it's very obscure....i saw it in a theater about 4 years ago....it's about a female suicide bomber........i was talking to my doctor the other day and we were talking about female suicide bombers.....and i told her that blowing one self up...is one hell of a way to get to heaven........after watching 'the terrorist' i had a better understanding of why someone would martyr themselves for a cause that they believe in.....hopefully 'paradise now' will give an even better idea as to why people would carry out such acts......especially when these acts are so prevalent in the middle east....and now...other parts of the world....

Fur with Nicole Kidman...can't wait to watch anything with her in it...plus there is a bit of Oscar Buzz about her performance.
