Films You Would Recommend

I forgot to mention how great In America is. Has anyone seen it?

I agree with comments made about Lost In Translation, and Labyrinth :o Looking forward to seeing hero.

Love The Usual Suspects. That is still Kevin Spacey's best part.

My favourite Tarantino somewhat unusually is Jackie Brown

Of Kevin Smith films I have only seen Chasing Amy and Dogma but I liked them both, Dogma especially funny if you're a catholic. :D

Whoever loved Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures I strongly agree!

Also must mention Leon and Far From Heaven, Julianne Moore, and in fact all the supporting cast inc. Patricia Clarkson, Dennis Quaid and 24's Dennis Haysbert all brilliant.

Whoever recommended Down With Love. I put it as one of my worst films on the worst films thread sorry!!

That was me. :) Down with love is a very stylised flim so I think it is a bit of an acquired taste. It is hammy and over the top in places, but it's supposed to be like that. Not saying its an outstanding film (just kinda fluffy romcom fun) but I enjoyed it. :)

If you like Kevin Smith, Mallrats is worth checking out. I also like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but it is really really silly and full of in jokes for people who've seen his other flims. :)

Great films that i would reccomend would be :

The Shawshank Redemption - all round its fantastic with a great storyline (im off to watch it now actually)

The Great Escape - obviously

Thin Red Line

Ali

Pulp Fiction

Heat - De Nero And Pacino - what could be better

Armageddon

Band Of Brothers - a great 10 part war series - truly is greatly presented

And loaRAB more but cant think off the top of my head

cheers, tom :):):)
