Films You Wish Would Get Made

He was never young in the series - he was in his late 30s early 40s when filming the series - just happened to age well. And Spike was such an intense and well-acted character that a lot of his age was ignored anyway.

It would definitely be an improvement for Alyson Hannigan in making a Buffy movie - the projects she has been involved with in the past *cough* Date Movie *cough* being probably the worst of them.

Another godfather but with the part between deniros part in part 2 and brandos part in part 1

As they speak about a gang war which would have been alot better than part 3

And another james bond film with pierce brosnan as bond :D dont like the new guy :D

One of my favourite books when growing up was The Changeover by Margaret Mahy, I have always believed that it would make a great film, with strong lead teenage characters, witchery, monsters and a battle against evil all against the backdrop of a normal New Zealand town.

I live in hope that the screenwriters wouldn't try and add too much to it - because it's not a simple story by any means - but I know that Hollywood likes to complicate things and make them 'better' so while part of me wants it to be adapted and another part - the purist part - would like it left totally alone.

True, I never twigged he was much older than the rest of the cast until I read about it. I think Alyson is better off in television, How I Met Your Mother is the best thing she's done since Buffy :)

Too right!

Bring her back from the dead (or, better still, pretend the series finale doesn't exist) and have her back where she belongs, fighting evil with Gabby! :D

Those films will never be done. The actors are too old and the Star Wars movies was all about Darth Vader...

Now, the film I want to see done is Thundercats, live-action!

Blimey - you're right - I never thought to look at the date - I hadn't looked at the site for a while and just assumed they were keeping it up to date.
However, Doug Naylor does talk about the film on the bonus features of the Series 8 DVD - but then that's quite old as well now I suppose.

I tend to agree with you on the plot idea.
But what about that bizarre ending of Series 8? Maybe they should do a one-off special TV show of "Earth" - I think the script was written but never filmed.

One Hundred Years of Solitude - by Gabriel Garica Marquez

I understand that he's never been keen to sell off the rights but since Love in the Time of Cholera is due on screen later this year someone might convice him. It would make an epic film, such a shame that 'Lost' did such a rip-off by finding a galleon in the middle of the jungle, everyone would think it's a copy from Lost whereas it would be the other way round! I think they'd need to use the same actors for the various generations of the family so that it wouldn't feel like there are far too many characters.
:)

I'd love to see the Dragon books from Anne McCaffrey on the big screen. Although with those I'd probably end up being disapointed with the interpretation on the characters.

The Phantom Tollbooth, was the only novel i've ever read as a kid from cover to cover. That would make a decent movie.

How about a movie based on Wacky Races... that would be interesting.

God that brings back memories. I loved that film as a kid.

And I agree with you about Wacky Races - amazed that no one has thought of that before!

Someone else mentioned Salem's Lot. Would love to see a proper mini-series of that book. The recent effort starring Rob Lowe was dire. How could they have got it so wrong :(

Poppy Z Brite's Lost Souls would make a great movie too, though probably a little on the controversial side.
