films you turned off midway through

last night I caught a film on film4 - halfway through - and had nothing else to do and it looked interesting.It was called "life is beautiful", it was about a father and son in a concentration camp.

Probably one of the best films i have seen, and i only caught it by chance, i think if i had read the blurb on it beforehand i would not have bothered.

Silent Hill - just couldn't be bothered

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - confusing rubbish

The Avengers Movie - possibly worst film ever made

Romeo and Juliet - with Leonardo DiCaprio - Crapio!!!
 
I went to the cinema with my OH to watch this - he was asleep and snoring like goodun 10 minutes in - really embarrassing because it was a packed cinema and I couldn't wake him up:o
 
Rain Man- but only to watch Mock the Week on the other side.

I don't like the film though. It's probably why loaRAB of people think autism's this dreadful thing which neeRAB curing- because they think all autistics are incapable of anything like Raymond is. Also Raymond was described as 'high-functioning' just because he can talk. Raymond is actually very low functioning- high finctioning people can usually live and work independantly. Also it seemed to imply that all autistic people are savants, which isn't true.

I wouldn't have a problem with the film if they made it obvious that Raymond if very low-functioning, but they didn't, they said the opposite, and now we have parents so scared of autism they risk their kiRAB getting seriously ill to avoid it (MMR jab scare, anybody?).

Mock the Week on the other hand is a light hearted and funny comedy panel show which I have no complaints about and that doesn't make me go into long rants.
 
'Pirates' was actually OK, but I agree about it being confusing. I still can't make head nor tail of it.

We had to watch the modern version of Romeo and Juliet in year seven as part of our English course. It didn't work, it didnt make sense, it was boring. Never watching it again.
 
I thoroughly enjoyed both Lost In Translation and The Terminal!:o

I walked out of the cinema in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I didn't get remotely near half way through that pile of shite though...
 
Moulin Rouge I tried several times to get into, but couldn't get past the first half hour or so. Eventually I did get round to watching the whole thing and loved it. More recently I tried watching Zodiac, but ended up falling asleep...
 
Black Snake Moan is the worst movie I have seen in many a day.
I actually amazingly lasted till about 40 minutes in.
Complete and utter pants.
