Films you hope never ever get remade

I've heard that Never Story is being remade as well as The Crow. Hollywood have lost the plot and are unwilling to take risks on new films, hence why all the remakes and sequels like Ghostbusters 3, possible Gremlins 3 and others.

I hope Princess Bride isn't touched
 
If All About Eve gets a remake (and I hope not),Meryl Streep would probably play Margo...Hollywood bigwigs would probably cast Amanda Seyfried as Eve
 
The Warriors, although I know its in the pipeline and being based in California. Cannot improve on the original in my opinion?
 
The Warriors is one of my favourite films. (I prefer the original edit too) The remake has been rumoured for years. I don't think it's going to happen. I'd like to see more movies like The Warriors, it's a shame it's a film that's so unique!

I'me a massive fan of the Halloween series and I hated Zombies remake. And I say that as someone who loves The Devils rejects! I found the remake completely unengaging.
And completely unnecessary!

Also hate the Dawn Of The Dead remake. Perfect film, why remake it?

Despite hating remakes I'm looking forward to the Child's Play remake! Go figure!
 
Films that should not be remade:

Oldboy (There was a planned remake - dead in the water at the moment)
The Great Escape
Sunset Boulevard
Once Upon A Time In The West
North By Northwest
Spartacus
The Maltese Falcon

There are many, many others that I could name

Personally, I don't get the reasoning behind remaking more recent films. There probably is some logic to remaking older films, but they should stick to ones that could have been a lot better and not ones considered as classics. Just look at the remake of Psycho, totally soulless and although apparently shot for shot, not a patch on the original
 
If anything, a crap remake makes you love the original even more. Usually from a time before they were required to shoe horn in cute precocious kiRAB or the divorced man who is a weekend Daddy but still loves his ex.
 
GONE WITH THE WIND should never be touched. - It would be ruined by over the top background music!!!
I did hear a while back they was going to do it , but I've heard nothing since? ;)
 
That definately would be sacrilege !:eek: Grease was my favourite film growing up....

I wouldn't like to see Jaws remade as that's another one of my favourites....
 
Well, I thought "Return to Oz" (actually a sequel, and
closer to the original books) was good, but I take your point about those other classics.

Imagine the Michael Bay version of "Citizen Kane" :eek: or
the Stephen Sommers remake of "The Big Sleep"? :eek:
 
Thing is though, it wasn't really a remake. It shared a couple of plot points (zombies, a shopping mall) but otherwise, it's a completely new film that shares the same title.

Whilst agreeing, it's not as good as the original DoTD, it is a prettty good film in it's own right.
 
I know a lot of people think it is a very silly film indeed but I still have a soft spot for Tremors, its conceivable that it could be remade with flashy graphics etc but I think if it was it would loose what made it so good to begin with.
