Whilst I can see that people enjoyed the films on their lists and could happily re-watch them, I'm not sure they would all stand up to multiple repeated viewings. For me, there are very few that I could watch and watch and watch again without worrying how long it was since I last watched it. My list is short but sweet:
Moulin Rouge
Finding Nemo
I might add the Toy Story films to that, but I think that's because they're on my 'favourites' list. I'm not sure it would stand up to the 'repeat' test.
I know that Moulin Rouge does, because we saw it 15 times at the cinema and have watched it 5 or 6 times since. Never gets old.
Finding Nemo is so beautifully visually rich, it's easy to watch over and over and the characters are wonderful, particularly Dory. Perhaps it IS her amnesia that makes it fresh every time.
I've seen quite a few people say "The Ususal Suspects" and in the same way I ask this question about "Fight Club" too:
What is it about these films that make them so re-watchable?
Once you've watched it and seen the twist unravelled at the end, you'd think it would ruin it for the next time you watched it. But it just doesn't! If anything I enjoy them more and more each time.
I may well be on my own for these (and fully expect a backlash)...
but...
Love Actually
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Cellular
Miss Congeniality
Lethal Weapon (especially 3 and 4)
Die Hard (especially 1 and 2)
Disney stuff
Sister Act (1 and 2, for the Music)
Coming to America
American president
Con Air
The Rock
Legally Blonde
I think Eternal Sunshine is probably the best movie of the last 10 years, but when I saw it again it didn't quite have the impact it did first time, so left it off my (short) list.
I should probably put Shawshank in, but I think it is almost holy ground... wouldn't ever want to risk over-playing that one and ruin the magic!

Or do you mean word of mouth? Entirely different thing... but let's be honest, it doesn't sound so good saying "it fell a bit flat, probably due to the great word of mouth", does it? Might make an interesting (and honest!) thread of its own though...
