Films you are looking forward to in 2009?

Has to be S Darko. Everyone is expecting it to be the worst film ever. But I have a small glimmer of hope that it might be quite good.

Who knows, maybe Voltron, A Lemony Snicket Sequel and The Preacher will finally get green lights.

I loved all three books, not sure how good the films will be though. I also loved Marley and Me, but don't hold out much hope for the film.

"The Lovely Bones " could be a blockbuster in the mould of "ghost"the book is a million bestseller and its gonna be directed by peter jackson of the" lord of the rings" fame who loved the book!!!and has such a talented cast with mark wahlberg ,(departed) susan sarrendon (thelma and loiuse) ,rachael wiesz,(the mummy1/2) and saonise ronan !(atonment).... due out december 2009

Some great films to look forward to.

-Harry Potter and the half blood prince
-Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian
-The Wolf Man
-The Spirit
-2012
-Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
-Terminator Salvation
-Watchmen

The reader- Kate Winslet is a fantastic actress & I absolutely adore her
& HPB- Cause Harry Potters almost tradition now in my household & I think Dan & Rupert are kinda cute

Those expecting Watchmen in March might be disappointed. It seems that the court case between Fox and Warner Brothers over who owns the rights to the distribution of the movie which was due to take place on January 20th, has been decided by a court judge just before Xmas Eve. The courts have ruled in Fox's favour which is a bit of a problem as it's Warner who are distributing the film. It now seems unlikely that the March 6th date of release will happen as hoped, although Warners are still saying it will. As for overseas distribution to the likes of us, especially if Warner appeal it might take longer to see the light of a cinema house.

Among the 'heavy-hitters' people have already mentioned, I'm very much looking forward to Cirque du Freak, the film based on the first three books in the Saga of Darren Shan.

Having been finished for about 4 years now, I hope that the 12-book series can be adapted better than all of the other non-Harry Potter children book film adaptations.

The fact that it's about vampires worries me a bit, given the T word that I daren't speak of -- never read it, never will after hearing about 'sparkles'.

Then again, this is a lot more action-orientated than that lovefest.

Anyway, get a release date and a trailer already, this is Universal, not Summit.

The Frighteners was the first film I saw by him, Pure class. I own it on Doov-de, lol.

Well I may have to read the book, before the film comes out.

12 posts and no-one's said AVATAR???

Avatar is coming out late 2009 and it's directed by James Cameron (of Terminator, Aliens, Titanic fame). Shaping up to be one of the biggest and most innovative films ever made, I CAN'T WAIT to see this at IMAX when it comes out!!!

Also, A Christmas Carol, which is being done by Robert Zemeckis in the same motion-capture way as Beowulf and The Polar Express.

What a year 2009 is going to be. Transformers 2, Watchmen, Star Trek, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Avatar, Terminator Salvation, X-men Origins: Wolverine, The Lovely Bones, Angels & Demons, Wolf Man and tons more.
