You and I think alike
I'll add to that and suggest a more 'epic' setting; the cast and crew went on to do Lord of the Rings, so why not? The cinematography of the show progressively got better. Episodes like 'Destiny' (season two) 'The Debt I&II' (season two) damn near every episode of season four [sic]. Hey, if they want, they can try and make it look a little more like Greece and a little less like New Zealand too
'We live in a society of laws. Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well, I didn't hear anybody laughin', did you?'
Either a sequel set many years after RoboCop 3 and made in the same vein as Batman Begins, a new beginning and bring it back to it's darker roots, or
A sequel to RoboCop which ignores RoboCop 2 and 3, or is at least set in the year between the first and second movie so that Robo can still have a partner and again, keep it dark like the original.
There is constant talk of a remake with a newer story and new unknown actors, but would it work???
Or, the ultimate wet dream of a movie. RoboCop Vs. The Terminator.
I've always wanted to see a movie on the life of Colonel Fredrick Spencer Chapman RABO. He's a distant relative and a wikipedia article does little justice to the life he led.
His experiences in Malaya would certainly make a movie on there own. He was captured (twice) and escaped both times. He spent virtually 3 years in the jungle.
To quote Field Marshall Earl Wavell "Colonel Chapman has never received the publicity and fame that were his predecessor's lot (T.E.Lawrence); but for sheer courage and endurance, physical and mental, the two men stand together as examples of what toughness the body will find, if the spirit within it is tough; and as very worthy representatives of our national capacity for individual enterprise, which it is hoped that even the modern craze for regulating our lives in every detail will never stifle."
