Films that make you cry

Disney's Beauty and the Beast - when the beast has died and the petal falls, then he comes alive again - brilliant stirring music and imagery - even listening to the soundtrack gets me blubbing!

It's probably easier to list films that don't make me cry :o I even had a bit of a sniffle going on during the latest Dr Who episode. Off the top of my head....

Krull (don't even ask :o )
Gone with the Wind (Mellie's death does me in everytime)
Watership Down
Midnight Cowboy (nearly suicidal at the end of that one)
The Champ
Its a Wonderful Life
True Grit
Harvey
Beau Gest (the old b&w version)

However, I nearly laughed during Titanic when Jack coped it and fell asleep during Ghost, and Meg Ryan's death during City of Angels remains as one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

It's pretty straight forward this thread...... tell us the films that make you cry.

Here are the films that make me cry every time.

1) Armageddon.... when Bruce Willis is saying that he won't be coming back

2) Con Air...at the end when laddo meets up with his daughter

3) Ghost... at the end when Molly sees Sam

4) The Champ... one of my favourites, but it gets me every time

5) Most of the true stories by Oddysey, alot of them are being shown on that new true movie channel.

Theres loaRAB more, but I can't think of them all. :)

I keep crying when watching Lord of the rings at the moment.
Fellowship of the rings - When Boromir is dying, and when Sam and Frodo were in the boat.
Two Towers - Arwens scenes, they all have me on the verge of tears.
Return of the king - When Elijah wood oops i mean Frodo gets on that ship at the end, and when Gollum falls into the lava.....god bless that little fellow.

The best tearjerker of the last 20 years: 'Jack and Sarah'.

Oh, and 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace' - but for completely different treasons.

New to this forum.... a defector from Soap & Drama...so Hi all!

Backdraft - pretty much from the fire & 'thats my brother' right through to the funeral.
Pretty Woman - Driving away in the limo, I think it is the music that gets me really going.
Ghost - ditto post 1

Forrest Gump gets me everytime - when Bubba dies and at the end where hes at the grave
My Girl - the funeral of the boy Maccauly Culkin plays was v sad
The last thing i cried at was the episodes of 8 simple rules about paul's death
When Satine dies in Moulin Rouge (despite knowing full well whats coming) I stil hope that she'd stay alive :o
I do usually end up in tears when anyone dies in any film tho.
Did anyone see the '100 greatest tear jerkers'? ET was number one, but i cna't say i remember being particularly bothered by any part of that...do i just have no heart?

Sommersby....a bit about an unironed shirt, of all things!
Brief Encounter....the ending where Laura is sitting in the chair, all aloooooooooooooooooooooooooone!

GHOST - I went to the movies to see this with my then boyfriend on one of our first dates. I didn't realise it was a weepie, I assumed it was a straightforward scary ghost story and so didn't take any tissues with me. BIG BIG MISTAKE !!! :(

TITANIC - I went to see this in the afternoon with my sis and cried just about all the way through. No, in fact, cry is an inadequate word - I actually hyperventilated at one point and cried all the way home driving along the M4. I think my sis was about to take me to the funny farm :o

And I simply won't even attempt to watch BAMBI or WATERSHIP DOWN or anything even resembling LASSIE because I just know it would result in babbling hysteria

i cried at the end of Jaws.
they blew the poor guy up just for eating a few swimmers!
I also must confess to doing a "Tim Bisley from Spaced" and getting abit teary eyed at the end of Terminator 2....im sorry!

Watership Down
The Green Mile
Edward ScissorhanRAB
Glory

I must admit that the funeral in My Girl really sets me off too - it's not the fact that Macauley Culkin has died (!) but the effect on his friend. Whatever happened to that girl in the film I wonder? Can't remember her name.

I did definitely cry at ET the first time I saw it - the bit where Elliot and ET hug before he gets back in the space ship.

Steel Magnolias
Beaches

Watership Down - I haven't watched it since I was little either but it was so upsetting then I swore I'd never watch it again!!!
