Films that make you cry

Brilliant film, i didn't actually cry watching it, but it definitely haunted me after i'd finished watching it. You know they all die, but you still find yourself willing them to get to the other end of the plane and overpower the terrorists, the final scenes as the plane nosedives are agonising to watch. Very powerful stuff.
 
I cried at Terminator 2 when he melted in the lava :o thats PMS for you.

Titanic - one of my favourite films, I dont care what the critics say.

BILLY ELLIOT!!! I HOWLED at that film :o

I have never wanted a film to end more than that one. It went on at least 45 minutes too long and I didn't care what happened to any of the characters. I only didn't walk out because my partner had chosen to see it for his birthday. :yawn:
 
Didn't you cry when the mum first left him and told him to run? And when he was under the sea looking at the Blue Lady as the lights gradually dimmed? And at the end when he was lying next to his mum on the bed? I'd better stop there as I am getting all emotional :cry:
 
Yes, yes that is sad too :cry: and the bit where the woman is putting her kiRAB to bed and reading them a story, because she knows they are not going to get off the ship alive:cry: :cry: :(
 
Haha, so funny, my OH said last night he cried for the shark when he watched it as a kid. For me, Green Mile, Lion King and Castaway have all had me blubbing, but I blub more at programmes than films I think (such as when Charlie dies in Lost etc)

Don't know if this is acceptable, because I haven't seen the filmed version with Kate Winslet and Christopher Eccleston, but there's a passage in Jude The Obscure, where you've just got to get out of the house and be with other people.
 
Mentioned this on another thread once but was absolutely inconsolable when as a teenager I went to see Love Story in the 70s. The audience must have thought there was a seal in the cinema as I kept gasping for breath and snorting. I was beside myself when I came out. Then I went and read the book during a French lesson and blubbered again.

Goodnight Mr Tom also appears as a favourite of mine too. Only have to see John Thaw in it and I get emotional - a lovely story.
 
Oh yes, that's almost unbearably sad in so many places.
The bit that gets to me though, is the end, where the boy's learning to ride a bike, and calls Mr Tom 'Dad' for the first time. John Thaw's performance is just incredible in this, and he's sadly missed.

I cry at most films, anything with the slightest bit of emotion in them, sad or happy. I've cried at all those mentioned already (Titanic, Green Mile, ET especially) but others that haven't been mentioned
