Films that make you cry

The first film that I ever cried at was old even back when I first saw it as a child. "Captain's Courageous" with Spencer Tracey and Freddie Bartholemew. It was one of those old b/w movies they used to show every Sunday afternoon. I was inconsolable for hours after it finished. Up until then I used to laugh at my Mum and sister when they used to cry at films.

Some others that have made me cry are:

Gone with the Wind
Schindler's List
ET
Green Mile
Truly, Madly, Deeply
Mask
Sophie's Choice

Titanic was the first film I ever cried at.

It opened the floodgates cos I can't bloody stop now - slightest sad bit I am blubbing now. :o :D

Stepmom is very sad at the end.

I cry at bloody everything but the two that get me everytime are Steel Magnolias and Terms of Endearment. I cry from beginning to end with Terms of Endearment. :o

Terms of Endearment, like many others have mentioned
and "A Christmas Carol"- I especially love the version with Patrick Stewart....I watch all the versions at Christmas (sad, i know....)

I do not recall a dog dying in that film

Unfortunately it's not PC to show that piece now and it is edited out now when it is shown

ANd the bit where they get off the space shuttle and the boy runs to him. So sweet. Once the bit where Harry says "I'm sorry honey, I've gotta break that promise" from then on its a big snotty blur to me!

I feel emotionally drained after watching Dances With Wolves. Wonderful film.

Deep Impact
Forrest Gump
What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
Oliver

There are many maaaaaaaaany more, but I can't think right now!

Yeah the bit where Pikachu goes like rock. It made my mum cry too and when we were coming out she said to the man who sat next to her, "So emotional you see love," and he replied, "I know, I know," patting her shoulder. :D I nearly burst out laughing.

Though I haven't seen it in a bit so it might not have the same effect these days. :p

Oh and another one that makes me cry (I think) is one called Mighty Joe Young.

I've managed to never see Titanic:) , but the films that get me are Old Yeller and Dark Victory...I get such a lump in my throat at the end of those and just can't speak:o

It's A Wonderful Life: "Help me Clarence, please! Please! I want to live again! I want to live again! I want to live again. Please, God let me live again. !"

There aren't many films that have managed to wring a proper tear out of me...

The only one I can remember off-hand is Schindler's List... the little girl in the red coat was a particularly poignant moment. :(
