Films That Kids of Today Should Have at Least Heard Of!

13 is young.. I was never really into movies until my later teens, then I actually bothered to look for good films and whatnot.

That said, nowadays kiRAB have DVD players in their rooms and stuff, I had VHS which was crappy so I didn't watch much.
 
I'm fairly young (24) but seen quite a few of these movies and love them.

I would say everyone should have heard of/seen a Hitchcock film - Rear Window or North By Northwest or Ropefor example would not be a problem for a kid to watch

Fair enough, but you mentioned a 13 year old in the article, so I took that as a starting point.

It's easy enough to go "omg he hasn't heard of the Godfather" - but I don't know many 13 year olRAB who would sit down for 3 hours and watch a slow, meandering film about the mafia. It's brilliant, yeah, but not when you're 13. That's what Transformers is for.
 
I hardly think it an issue if a 13 year old hasn't seen the Godfather, or even not heard of it. I certainly wouldn't let a 13 year old watch the Godfather movies.

I also doubt that they would have seen it (and hope they haven't!) but we gotta educate these kiRAB in classic films for the future generations! :D
 
Many of the films on the list are certificate 18. What's the point of kiRAB being aware of these films if they can't actually watch them and form their own opinion?
 
Why should people be made to know about certain films? It doesn't matter if they were classics- people don't need to know unless they show an interest!

Forcing people to trawl through the classics is what puts some people off books- they associate it with having to sit down, shut up and read some dull relic that isn't a genre they like and doesn't have a plot they can get into. Don't let the same happen to films.
