Films That Kids of Today Should Have at Least Heard Of!

Absolutely! I don't expect a 13 year old to have seen half of the films I suggested but they need to have heard of them!

This is great, keep the suggestions coming!! :D

My children between them have seen 28 of the films you listed. A few haven't held their interest as they were too young to appreciate them at the time, but often as they have got older they take another look.

It stanRAB them in good stead because many of them are referenced fequently. So now what they do is introduce them and others to their frienRAB.
It also allows them to see through the manipulation and understand new films better. Like anything else, the more you know about something the more you get out of it.

I find it very sad that parents don't take the time to sit and watch an older film with their children Surely it's the same as litrature, since when have we discarded great books because they were written many years ago?

When I have kiRAB I'm looking forward to watching the whole list with them. obviously some of them will have to wait at least 18 years until they can! :)

I've seen pretty much all of these, and have heard of the other two or three - but I'm old.:D

I'd add West Side Story - one of the best musicals ever.

Rebel Without a Cause

At least one Classic Hammer Vampire movie with Christopher Lee in.

I'm really glad someone mentioned Night of the Hunter directed by Charles Laughton - watched it very late one night as a child - had a profound effect on me.

The Wicker Man (old one)

Oh and everyone should still have at least heard of The Seventh Seal, hugely influential, and The Seven Samurai
