Films that have made you cry, or have put a lump in your throat

The end of Return of the King........well, the bit when everyone bowed to the Hobbits.

King Kong, Peter Jackson version........probably just me with this one.

I'm sure theres more but i can only think of these two at the mo.

the pianist... i cried like a baby... basiclly anything to do with the holocaust like sophies choice/shindlers list make me cry.
but more obscure ones i cried at were.. casper (can i keep you?) lol lady and the tramp with the puppies crying! and forrest gump! it gets me every time!

Watched Man on Fire again the other day (think it was on BBC3) and the end of that film always gets me...I won't say what happens so as not to spoil it for people who haven't seen it...but I get a lump in my throat everytime I watch it

Def welled up at the end of Gladiator the first time I saw it, although it doesn't seem to affect me when I watch it now.

-green mile
-finding neverland
-the wedding singer...propose to me like that and you're in!
-girl, interrupted...where daisy hangs herself

i had a load in my head till i actually started listing them

i do remember tho that when i didn't cry at titanic the first time i watched it, my mum said i was hard hearted lol

Sorry to bring an old thread up!

The Hours
Requiem for a dream
AI
Sylvia
The Little Mermaid (haha)
Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind
Walkabout

'Oh captain, my captain' always brings a lump to my throat. And maybe it was the the sherry trifle talking, but I too confess to getting a bit teary when Sully had to say goodbye, and then when Boo sees him again at the end and says (off-screen) 'Kitty !'. Soooooo sweet. If my missus and M-I-L weren't in the room I'd have blubbed like a little girl. :)

Mulholland Drive. It's such a sad story.
And Green Mile of course.
I Am Sam.
Breakfast At Tiffany's, but only the end bit with the cat.
Dancer in the Dark.

And that as well!

Last 20 minutes? I think I started about 20 minutes in. :o Awesome film though.

If I was to name every film I'd cried in I'd be here all night, and since I'm planning to skive off work early, I won't bother. :D

I agree with united 93, I couldn't talk afterwarRAB, Most of the cinema were like that. Even the men who you would never expect to show their emotions were crying! I have never ever seen a response like it

Not technically a film, but a 2 part tv mini series I watched in 1988 but got the other week on DVD called First Born
It was about genetic breeding and the ending just done me, I was in tears. Very good storyline and even though it was made over 20 years ago, it could seem like it was set today.

The Green Mile is a proper Tear Jerker. Wonderful performance from Micheal Clarke Duncan as John Coffey. When he was being taken to be executed I could not control myself I was weeping like a baby. I had something in my eye..honest! :D

The Shawshank Redemption. The greatest film about Hope. The end fills your heart and makes you cry with tears of joy.

Monster. Powerhouse performance from Charlize Theron. It made me feel so much empathy for Aileen Wuornos. Of course killing a load of guys was wrong but it was so sad at how damaged she was and society would not help her. Theron's performance was so good . One minute Wuornos scared you as a psychotic killer and the next minute you could see a damaged, helpless little girl and that is what made me cry. The hoplesness of her situation. If you don't shed a tear when Christina Ricci and Theron are ice skating together to the soundtrack of 'Journey - Don't stop Believing' you are made of stone. A film that has stayed with me for a long time.

1.beaches-obvious
2.jungle book - he should have stayed in jungle!
3.cool running -when they walk to end of course
4. tv -'last' episode of only fools 1996 when they walk into bar
