Films that deserve a sequel

Okay.... Time to be really controversial, and shoot any credibility I may have ever had.

I want a third film each for Fantastic Four and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

Oh, the shame. :o

That's okay, I do too, if only because Dr Doom keeps getting his butt kicked way too easily... :(

And also, more Lara please, yes! :D

Anyway, while I'm sure most will disagree with me, I want Alien 5, only because Resurrection felt open ended and left a lot of things unresolved. Fox has instead decide to go with the AVP movies which, while they are "switch-your-brain-off" romp, are no where as near as good as the originals.

I'd like to see Ripley's story resolved.

As a prequel I presume. The possibilities of a sequel are a tad limited.

Thinking about it, I suppose we could see Miss Portman reprise her role as an adult Matilda fulfilling her ambition to become a cleaner... but that would just be another Nikita / Assassin (deserving of their own sequel).

A film sequel was in the works, but in 2004 it was revealed that Warner Brothers, the copyright holder, had not shown interest in a sequel. So the idea was scrapped.

A follow up to Fight Club just for the return of Tyler Durden.

The Godfather 4 (Godfather 3 will always be a weak ending to a great story).

Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2.

A Goodfellas follow up.

Wiki says:

On the Unfortunate Events website, the question "Are you going to make another movie?" is asked and Lemony Snicket replies: "It is known to only a handful of people whom are currently bound and gagged and locked in a cupboard. However, should it be of any use at all, I can tell you that one of them is known as Lethal Verity Sky". Lethal Verity Sky could be an anagram for "That's very likely".

If another film were to be made, however, the orphans' actors will most likely need to be recast, as the children have grown out of their roles.

Who would Tyler be though..? Someone elses alter ego?

Roger Rabbit 2 was planned for filming and release in the early 1990's but it came into all sorts of trouble, mostly from Stephen Speilberg of all people. If you do a search on it you can read more. A shame it wasn't made, I really liked the first one. Bloody Speilberg.

Drop Dead Fred 2
Short Circuit 3
Dumb & Dumber 2
The Incredibles 2
True Lies 2
Mike Bassett England Manager 2

Matrix: Prequel

I heard on the grape vine whilst the second two were in pre-production, that the first sequel would be a prequel. I was gutted when it turned out not to be and they opted for a special effects showcase with cringe-makingly bad dialogue and next to no story.

Still liked it tho

Sadly they made 'Dumb and Dumber 2' it was called 'Dumber and Dumberer', or something like that which kind of summed up the scriptwriters.

Event Horizon 2... I would prefer Event Horizon: Director's Cut... when it was being made Fangoria showed images that were truly horrifying.. and with the oppresive atmosphere the film would have carried them without feeling gore-heavy (in my opinion)... still, a sequel would be equally cool :D

Its rumoured that he will be making an return in 2011, with 2 films supoosedly on the list.
True Lies 2 and Doc Savage.
Appartently Willis and Stallone have advised him to return to the screen after their recent success.
True Lies 2 script was complete and about to be made but due to him being governor was never made.

Monsters Inc. 2
The Incredibles 2 - it was practically set up for a sequel at the end anyway.
The Breakfast Club 2 - They all fell out during the week and got Saturday detention again :D (OK, not gonna happen, but it would be nice to have another film, this one was so good.)
Short Circuit 3
