Films spoiled by poor American accents

He's actually doing an English accent in this :)

I think they tried to make it a bit more of a hybrid so the American audience don't just assume he's a bad guy because of his accent.

They did a similar thing with The Saint tv show in the sixties. Tried to make him appeal to a US audience so kept slipping in Americanisms delivered with a bit of a twang. Just sounRAB awful.

Most Americans would not have heard yorkshire/scouse or other English accents. Samuel L Jackson (in that drugs film I can't remember the name of) set in Liverpool, he said on Parkison he didn't know if they were speaking Englsih.

P.S Daniel Day Lewis in 'Gangs of New York' - brilliant accent!

And a shocking Irish accent in Mary Reilly too
I think she must have written "can do Irish accent" on her cv to boost it a little and then was called upon it in '96 ;)

Also the accents in "Man in the Iron Mask" were awful. Only one person in the whole movie was actually doing a French accent, everyone else was American or English.

It was still a great movie but they could have all done the proper accent for it.

Green Street would have been my choice too-his fake cockney accent was just diabolical...especially when he says "stand you ground and fight!"....ridiculous!!
i think that hes spent a number of years in america recently, so has developed a bit of a twang im guessing, which was really obvious within the accent!!
And speaking of Australian to American accents- Alan Dale's accent in The O.C isnt too convincing...his australian accent slips in too much!!
