Two of my favourite books are currently being made into films. I really hope they're good but I've a horrible feeling they'll be big disappointments. I hate it when the picture you've built up in your mind is ruined by a bad film. I'm particularly worried about Marley and Me, with Jennifer Aniston, billed as a romcom, which the book wasn't. I'm more hopeful for Lovely Bones with the young girl from Atonement in the lead. It's very rare for a film to be better than the book, I think maybe Horse Whisperer might be one, the ending was much better than the book, can't think of any other examples though.
