Film title please

I'm trying to remember the name of a film I read about recently.

I assume that it was released in the last 18 months, but am not really sure.

Plot is something about a group of regular guys(who happen to be electronics experts) that like to invent and build things.

One day, by chance, they build a time machine but when they try it out they realise that messing with the whole space/time continuum is generally bad (think Back to the Future) and then have to find a way to destroy the machine and put everyone's life back in order.

Any ideas please?

Does not sound like Timeline at all. Don't believe they try to destroy a time machine in that.

Can't be Butterfly Effect, there are no time machines in that.

Possibly Timecop but doubtful as no one tries to destroy any time machines in that.

Has to be either The Time Machine or Back to the Future 3.
 
There was an artical about it on AICN a little while back so you might have a bit of luck rooting around there.

I put the plot in IMDB but it brought up nothing, i know the film you're refering to but the name escapes me. A real bitch becaue i do want to see it.
 
I also searched imdb but could not find it.

At least I know the film exists now, so I will keep looking.
I think I actually read about it in IEEE Spectrum (Electronics Industry magazine.) if that helps.
