Film making courses - anyone done one?

Specifically as a school-age student rather than as a full-time course. Although that might be of interest too. Any recommendations, preferably within striking distance of West London, and during the school holidays?

There are plenty of summer course/short course movie making lessons about - many are privately run and will cost you a couple of hundred for four to six lessons: costly, but they often have the latest digital equiptment. You'll find several government run initatives about the place too - they tend to be full of old video editing suites (*remembers the night terrors caused by the video editing machines*) but they tend to be about

Raindance run a number of weekend courses in different aspects of filmmaking.

They're a legitimate organisation and very much cater for the neeRAB of low-budget first-time filmmakers.

Looked at them this morning but they don't appear to do any courses aimed at school students. The National Film and Televison School have a relationship with something called the Metropolitan Film School in London which looks interesting, does courses for young film-makers (14-18), but weirdly the course isn't in the school holidays. It's also very expensive but that isn't the biggest problem at this point - it's finding a course in August that's difficult.

Attended one at "Panico" based just off Charing Cross Road in '99, Money well spent. It was spread over six Sundays and covered every thing to do with Film production.
What made me choose this one was the fact that all instructors on the course are film pro's, Bob the guy that runs it was sound recordist on a number of Terry Gilliam's movies and his brother is a director who also edited "Brazil".
A lot of the other courses in London, such as NYFA are run by Film school graduates rather than people with actual production experience. A lot of the people that have attended panico courses have gone on to have jobs in the industry, because of the contacts that panico has, allowing people that have attended their courses to go on work experience ect.
It cost me just over
