David Copperfield was filmed near where my Mum works in Liverpool. Other films filmed or partially filmed in the city include Sherlock Holmes (2009), The 51st State, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows (The Director David Yates is from just down the road in St Helens - the scene filmed was in one of the Mersey tunnels), Let Him Have It, and Alfie (2004 - doubling for New York).

Some of Alice in wonderland was filmed at Antony house which is a stately home near here in Torpoint,Cornwall just over the border from Devon. Went there recently and the garden is all themed to it still and fun to visit.

Harry Potter seems to have been in loaRAB of towns and cities around the UK. Ceratinly, London, Gloucester and I think Oxford were used.

Im from Newcastle and Durham Cathedral about 30mins drive was used for the first film of Harry Potter..

Makes sense, they do move around a lot in the final book.

Green street was filmed in my local pub, couldn't go in for a drink when they were filming!

Elijah Wood was sat a few seats along from me when they filmed some scenes at Upton Park!

In fact the film was ruined for me because the scenes in the pub were meant to be at West Ham in the film, but they were at Brentford. Even the football club in ther background wasn't West Ham, but BrentforRAB!
