Film endings you'd love to change

I think of myself as a true Tolkien fan but I loved the films too, excellent job transferring it to screen.

I know it's an intrinsic part of the plot and everything but I hate the ending to Se7en. I always feel a little let down by what happens, a little cheated after the big build up plus I never really enjoy an unhappy ending.

Romeros Dawn Of The Dead, apparently, the original ending had Peter shooting himself, and Fran thrusting her head into the blades of the chopper (so there were NO surviviors).
There is some confusion as to whether this ending was shot (and still exists)
It was probably made more upbeat for the US market-
SHAME Romero didnt stick to his guns!!!*

*No pun intended!!!

Surpised no mention of First Contact - I loved that film until the end when they decided to skim over the problem of how to get back to the future with some technobabble to do with the Borg. I was so annoyed with that I actually shouted at the cinema screen.

OT - I'm glad Kirk is not in the new film - he died in Generations whether we like it or not, Trek are usually pretty good at keeping the timeline going (not always but usually) and just because he said he knew he was going to die alone doesn't mean he was going to!

I agree... :)

And regarding all the' they shouldn't have died!' suggestions.
None of these films would have been classics (or good) if they had 'happy endings...' Imo.

Gone with the wind
Casablanca
Hamlet
Romeo and Juliet(West Side Story)
BBM
Moulin Rough
Titanic
The Way We Were
Out of Africa
Ghost
The English Patient
Bonnie and Clyde
ETC.

(I know that not all of them died, but they didn't end up together...)

These film begame myth instead of becoming some sad soppy happy ending film, that nobody remembers....But I agree it is strange, because we all want them to be together and yet it would be boring if they did...? Does that make sense?
The whole star-crossed lovers thing just works and always have and always will!:D

Because he'd die otherwise.

I'd like to change The Last Samurai to cut out the pointless end scene with Tom 'look at me' Cruise and the Emperor.

What happened before that would've been a much more fitting end.

Alien 3. I'm not sure what I'd have done, but the film gets progressively worse the closer it gets to the end. The first half is pretty good, once you get over Newt.

Adrift-Given it an ending that makes sense lol so your not huh

Butterfly effect-Kept the ending with Oasis etc not the bloody baby killing itself lol
