Does anyone remember the film "Electric Dreams" from 1984 with Virginia MaRABen, about the architect who falls in love with the girl next door, before his computer gets jealous.

This is a fantastic film and never gets shown on TV. I think Sky Movies showed it once in about 1990, but now it never gets shown.

I don't think it is available on DVD either?

Yes, I remember it - it was made by Virgin (films/movies?). If you are looking for a copy, It might be worth contacting them.

Confession time here - I have the cd of the music.

Confession number 2 - while I was ironing last Thursday for no reason other than wanting a burst of eighties nostalgia I listened to it. I really love Culture Club's song - Love is love.

I just thought I'd try to add this to my dvd rental list at tesco.com and what did I find - it's not available on dvd!!! When you think of some of the tosh that gets put out on dvd and little gems like Electric Dreams are passed by. I will definitely be signing that petition.

It's on CD?

Great.

I recently threw my cassette version during a clear-out. The Jeff Lynne songs were the one's I played to death.

Yeah it's a great film, I have it on video from when The Studio showed it.
I also have the sound track on CD, it's very good, I love, Love is Love by culture club, The Duel and of course Togerther In Electric Dreams.
This film really neeRAB a DVD release or at least a showing on tv in wide screen without a DOG.

Wonderful film - wonderful soundtrack. Together In Electric Dreams is one of my favourite songs of all time!

I also have the CD soundtrack, and the other outstanding track is The Duel, where the computer and Cello play that classical track by (I think) Mozart.

Can't believe it's not available on DVD!

The cello piece played by Madeline in the song "The Duel" is The Minuet No.4 in G Major from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach by JS Bach.

Very nice of you. Let me know what you need.

The reason for the cassette clearout was that I've just got a car with a CD player in, and try as I might cassettes don't fit in the slot. That would be a perfect solution. :)

Pacman, I messaged you 2 days ago but you never got back to me. Just message me your name and address and I'll pop a copy into the post :)

Electric Dreams has been on tv a number of times, I remember seeing it and remember 'remembering the plot' when it was on again.

I will admit it hasn't been on for one heck of a time, but I also remember the picture quality was naff to say the least, for a film that was so recent, maybe whoever has it busted the print or sommat.
