Figured out - create/load/send free ringtones

I have an 8900, service with Cellular One and finally figured out how to get free ringtones into my phone!

I followed the advice from a prior poster with Verizon on going into my providers page where you can send a pic to someone - CellOne calls it the Gallery, then using the send option. Or you can use the download cable to avoid the send charges.

Here's were the free tones come in - I found a great free midi site with all kinds of current music - most composed by users, but top hits, classic rock, country, etc. I saved what I wanted, edited them to 30 secs or less with a free Midi editing/composing program from Tucows. On the "Gallery" page I picked send, then added a slide with content "from computer" grabbed the midi off my hard drive, clicked add - page refreshed to show music note, clicked send and off it went to my phone. When the message came in I opened, used menu to save the media. It went to Media Gallery. In my Settings menu, I clicked sounds, then scrolled to the song, selected and wa la, its in there.

I personally love to have the Led Zep - Rainsong tone for incoming calls from my hubby. Loaded some great Pink Floyd too.

Have at it - have fun.

Can someone PM me with a little more detail on how you do this? I have an 8900 and service with Cell One, so I also should be able to get free ones..but the explaination was kinda confusing.

MYPHONEFILES.com is great. I just joined for $3/month (Less than 2 ringtones w/get it now) for unlimited tones, even qcp voicetones and mp3. Only problem is that u still have to pay 25 cents per tone sent because it has to send a pix message. It's still a good deal.
