Figure out my riddle, please?

I made it up, but everyone in my family understood it.

At the dance 12 of the girls had 1 dress on. Each of there date had a black/white tux on. Then, 5 girls came, and so did 7 guys, there was a teacher watching them. There was a teacher for every 9 students. All of the teachers were girls.
How many non-students had on a dress?

well none, i suppose... unless one of the female teachers was a cross-dresser and wore a tux or something... =/

wait... no, thats not right... (looking at the riddle again)

i guess it would be... 4 teachers were wearing a dress (again, unless one of the teachers decided to wear slacks, or whathaveyou)
 
OK YOU HAVE PRESENTED A DILEMA.... I SAYTHATTHE ANSWER IS (1) NON STUDENT WAS WEARING A DRESS..... MY HUSBAND SAYS (2) NON STUDENTS HAD ON A DRESS.
