Few questions about XV6700 with cricket...

1. All i need to do is buy a XV6700 and change the ESB nuraber? No other software required?
2. How fast is the WAP if i run my own server.
3. Do i need the 50 dollar plan to connect to wap servers?
4. MMS works every so often I've read so does that mean i cant send or receive text messages?
5. How fast are the cricket wap servers?
6. Wi-FI is available right?

1. If you buy a verizon phone, you don't have to change anything. Just get the correct PRL uploaded on the phone and you're done (for phone and text messaging). WAP/Picture messaging require manual programming.

2. WAP has been rumored to run around 256K. I know I don't get nearly that speed. Mine is as slow/slower than dial up.

3. Short answer is yes. However, you can add it on the $60 plan, so you might be able to add it for $5/mo on a cheaper plan. you'd have to ask cricket.

4. Text messaging works perfectly. It's just media messaging that doesn't.

The xv6700 is simply an AWESOME phone for Cricket. But based on how you want to use it as a data device according to your other thread I don't think it's the best solution for you--at least not using Cricket's data services, that is.
