I recently found out biking is a good exercise and also noticed there are many good trails where i live (D.C.) So now i'm trying to buy a bicycle. I heard craigslist is a good place to buy one cheap. But I'm so confused. There seem to be wide range of price, types, and brands. Why are some so expensive? what is good about them? should i get them? And also what type should i buy? mountain or road? I will be riding them 1~2 hrs 3to4 times a week, mostly on paved roads.
Can I get a good buy under 100 dollars? and how long do bikes last usually? I see some ppl selling bikes from the 80s for a high price tag..what is the reason for that?
Oh and what are some good brands i should know to look for?
