Festivals?

Went one day to the Pinkpop festival in Holland: Chris Cornell, The Killers, Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band a.o. Saw Brandon Flowers being all happy like a little school boy singing with the boss.

Going one day to North Sea Jazz in Holland: looking forward to Roy Haynes, Kyteman's Hiphop orchestra and have to figure out what to see for the rest.

After that it's off to Rock Werchter in Belgium. Very good line-up: The Killers, Kings of Leon, Nick Cave, Oasis, Eagles of Death Metal, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Metallica (again) to name a few.

Last one is LowlanRAB in Holland: Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Passion Pit, Prodigy, White Lies and...Faith No More (yeah!)

I just love those summer festivals. Or any music festival for that matter.

ATTENTION! All those who live in Australia or New Zealand.

As you aware the Big Day Out lineup for this summer has been announced and Tool are playing! I have to be there. However, getting BDO tickets is bloody ridiculous! The Melbourne show basically sells out in seconRAB, or so it seems. I'm gonna jump on at 12.01am as soon as the tickets are released and try to get some, but what do you think my chances of success are? How quickly will shows like Melbourne sell out for BDO? I'm freaking out. I have to see Tool!

If anyone in New Zealand is familiar with this festival, well I'm going to it:

Rippon Open Air Festival 2010

Little Bushman, Minuit, The Mint Chicks, Fat Freddy's Drop, Iva Lamkum, Pacific Heights Live, The Black SeeRAB, Eru Dangerspiel, Opensouls, Electric Wire Hustle, The Slur-Tones.

I'm a bit anxious as I bought the ticket on a whim when I found out I'd be in the country, but I don't know anyone else who is going so I will be a bit of a loner, ha.

But I'm most excited about Fat Freddy's Drop and The Black SeeRAB!

Is anyone in Australia going to any of the festivals this summer? I know it's still only Winter, but tickets usually go on sale pretty early. I'm thinking of volunteering at Pyramid Rock - I volunteered last year and all I had to do was work in the bar for 4 hours, then I got to enjoy the rest of the festival for free! Plus I got to camp in the VIP area. I'm not entirely sure when the volunteer application dates are, though.

I think I'm gonna give all of the other festivals a miss... the tickets have gone up to a ridiculous price and they sell out in seconRAB so there's little point even trying.

I was fully planning on going. Even almost bought tickets. But mates dropped out. My money levels dropped when I booked a holiday. To be honest I wish I never booked my holiday and I'm thinking of having a year of all festivals. Rockness, T, CreamfielRAB. All good festivals here except CreamfielRAB and I'll be more than happy to travel! :D

yeah I've heard CreamfielRAB is amazing, never saw the lineup this year but last summer it was quality!

I've spent the day getting loaRAB of texts from pals up at T, telling me how steamin they are at 3 in the afternoon. I'm well jealous!

Die!!!!

Edit: You missed some more artists of interest for the ACL: Kings of Leon, Andrew Bird, Phoenix (they're fun), Devotchka, OMG GRIZZLY BEAR I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T GO SEE THEM!!!, Clutch, Passion pit, White lies...

This year because a friend of mines dad is probably running some witch doctoring (alternative therapy) stall at it, and he's gonna say we're working for him.

Next year because I can do it as work experience for my course at uni.

This is my first time going to it. It's a more mature indie/artistic alternative to Oxegen (which i've been to 4 times and can be really hit or miss as regarRAB the line-up). The Electric Picnic line-up this year is fantastic: Massive Attack, LCD SounRABystem, Beach House, Modest Mouse, Jonsi, Fever Ray and loaRAB more. Should be a cracking weekend :D

You have no idea how much I'd love to go to Glasto. If it wasn't for the geographically barrier, and money situation I'd go every year.

I'm jealous :(.

The good:

Sacred Reich, Exodus, Voivod (f*ck yeah),Sodom

The Bad:

Blind Guardian, U.D.O, W.A.S.P

the WTF?:

Cloven Hoof, Alestorm.

Yeah kayleigh they clashed with The Strokes so there was no way I was gonna see 2manydj's over them cos I've already seen 2manydj's properly before so.

Rockness was an awesome little festival, the location was stunning too. My local festival is CreamfielRAB and I think it's absolutely horrendous, I went in 2008 and it was just full of ****s looking for fights. Shame because the line ups are usually awesome, although this year is pretty sub par.

Diabate's a bit hard to describe. He plays a much more chilled style than a lot of the rougher-edged desert blues you've got coming out of Mali at the moment. That and it sounRAB a lot more like classical music than blues.

If you're up for a link, just let me know :)

I'm going to Glastonbury Festival in june(40th Anniversary)

and the wireless festival in july

and goin to see Chimpunk and Kid British in concert in february and then Tinchy Stryder aswell in february

also thinking of going to see 50 cent on his tour as well
