Feminists in Germany - do they complain about "sie?"?

As we all know, in English we have the pronouns "he" and "she." But we have no separate pronound when the gender is unspecified or it is a generic statement about all persons. So when gender is unspecified, we use "he."

Feminists blast this because it means we just assume that an unspecified gender is male, which makes women second class citizen.

German is just the opposite. It has prounouns "er" for he and "sie" for she. When gender is unspecified, it uses "sie."

Do feminists in Germany claim that the German language shows preference for females, so it is sexist against men?

Or do they say it makes women second class citizens because females have to use the same word for neutral or unspecified gender, while males have their own special word.

Has anyone ever heard how this controversy plays out in this case?
