feminists, do you think having seperate categories in SPORTS for men & women harms

EQUALITY? like having mens soccer and womens soccer
mens rugby, womens rugby
mens wrestling, womens wrestling
mens basketball (NBA) and womens basketball (WNBA)

dont you think there should be a common mixed team for these sports where both men and women can be chosen regardless of their gender and only on the basis of ability.

if the selection is done regardless of gender then the players will be selcted based on ability and for a mixed team, we will have approximately equal number of men and women, so men will have no way but to put up with it.

because if in NBA there are 6 women who play better than men, they will be in the team bcos of merit and ability

you just have to stop having seperate teams, the selection will do the rest.

yes youre right. in newzealand they did this in rugby and men were allowed to opt for womens teams and women were allowed to opt for mens. and guess what the ratio was quite equal in both.

I'm not a feminist but I think that we should have mens teams and womens teams, but you should be able to play in either one so technically two bi-gender teams

no thats dumb.... because if you have a woman on your team, you get a HUGE disadvantage.... she has far less stamina... less strength... shes probably smaller... AND she probably gets hurt easily...

women would harm the score.... its best to keep it seperate...
 
Actually, I am a feminist but at same time, I do think you should still separate men and women form sports teams because it shows that women are just as competitive as men and don't have to be put on a mixed gender team to show it. So in way, I kind of think of it as a battle of the sexes kind of thing. Just because a sports team is all-female doesn't mean that they abilities are being compared in a negative way with a men's sports team. It just shows that they don't need to be mixed to prove their skills and should compete against each other actually. That's my opinion, but it probably sounds kind of weird to most people.
 
First off sports isn't real life so I am not going to devote my time and effort to ironing out the issues with it.

Like I said before, why don't they have different levels seperated based on strength, height, weight, etc. So little guys can play with girls and big girls can play with guys. Or lets just do away with the pointlessness that is sports.
 
Man, I would absolutely LOVE to see a woman fight Chuck Liddell!

The majority of women are not capable of competing with men in sports, but I assume it depends on what the sport is. I've seen women compete with men pretty equally on a soccer field, but in American football the women were destroyed.

Of course, in MMA fighting, women would be literally killed.
 
how many people watch NBA vs WNBA?

the number of viewers affects the money those women get.

but men will never let women compete with them.
