I'm a guy and I have a female friend. She's always complaining how she can't find a man. I've overheard her talking to guys and laughing saying, "I'm high maintenance. I can't even cook. A guy either has to cook or take me out to eat because I'll never set foot in a kitchen! I totally hate kitchens." Not surprisingly, the guy didn't ask her out.
Later I asked her, "Do you always say that to guys?" she said she did and that guys think it's "cute" and don't mind that she can't cook. She says she is too lazy to learn and thinks it's "grandma-ish" and old fashioned and that women should not have to bother learning these days. Mind you I am NOT the kind of guy who expects a girl to cook for me all the time BUT as a man, I would say most of us men prefer ladies who can cook. Likewise it is a major turn OFF to have a girl who says she is "high maintenance" and who expects to be cooked for and taken out like all the time like a helpless little kid!
I explained to her in a nice way that "maybe" this 'I can't cook' speech she likes to repeat, is scaring men away. Her house is junked up with fast food wrappers and her fridge is full of rotting take out boxes. Add to this the fact that she eats very unhealthy and is overweight. I don't expect a woman to slave away in a kitchen for me BUT if she can't even feed herself and doesn't have basic human survival skills and likes to brag about it, this isn't sexy! I told her "Maybe if you drop that 'high maintenance' line and learn to take better care of your body you would get more dates!" She refuses to believe that her best guy friend is right about this.
So lets hear it guys: Is it "hot" when ladies brag how they can't even boil water? Is it "cute" when they expect you to cook or buy some expensive restaurant food? Is it funny when a girl brags and laughs about this and says she'll never learn how? Is it cute when she clearly has a weight problem and doesn't eat healthy? And finally, do you think she would go on more dates if she STOPPED repeating this to every guy?
FYI...I am a really good cook and every woman I was ever with said this was a huge turn on! I don't care if women cook for me or not. I can do it myself but it IS huge turn on when a girl can cook for me too!
I have even offered to TEACH her how to cook and she won't...
