Fema camps? Martial law in America?

Mainly a question for my US friends.

I am trying to gauge the mood of the country, a relativlely little research has pointed me to indicators of F.E.M.A building and/or modifying complexes seemingly, to incarcerate large numbers of people. And a particular resolution in congress is worrying me

The sale of firearms is up 360% and I have a few contacts telling me that they expect civil insurrection and the imposition of martial law in the near future.

Sounds incredible.

Please educate me.

Lara, loving your thoughtful response, I am sure you and I will get along famously, you are not a fanatic, you are objective and thoughtful in your approach. liking your answer for best answer so far. The truth will out.
 
F.E.M.A. cannot even deal with the homeless left by Katrina years ago. There is no way the same agency could build camps and incarcerate Americans in large numbers. If martial law is declared, there are very few Americans well armed enough to resist, despite the bumper stickers to the contrary. The sale of firearms has not increased by any significant amount, and certainly not by 360%. You are either listening to or simply throwing out large numbers. That much growth in even one industry would be quite a boon for the economy
 
i have seen no evidence of FEMA camps
but they could be erected in 48 hrs without difficulty if they are prepared
my personal weapons and ammo are up about 25%
my anxiety up about the same
same feeling as in the late 60's when nixon came on board

it may work out well
but i doubt it
financial policy of USA is absolute goofiness
and my estimate is that it is throwing gasoline onto a fire

but we will see
 
Personally, I think the camps are being built to house Mexican people who would the hardest hit, if our Government were to collapse or a attempted land grab, by the Mexican government if they were to change hands to a Communist government. The buying of weapons by the American population is not to overthrow the Government, but to protect ones life, home, and family, from bands or roving thugs,who had rather steal,rape and murder, than to stay at home and try to have a garden, barter with your neighbors for different things that you might need and try to weather the storm. Martial law might be imposed, so some group wanting to dominate the American people, is a possibility,but a failing idea.
 
I am looking at blood in the streets. And unlike 1860, this time it will be a mad max dissolving of the USA. God grant I am ready and can strike my enemies with fire and fury. May I slaughter my foe, protect friend and kin and drive the enemy to perdition.
