The future of the #45 car is still uncertain as of right now. I myself was sad when I heard that Kyle may not be back in the car. As long as NASCAR has been around there's always been a Petty racing. If Petty Enterprises decides to put someone else in the car I'll be stunned. I know that Kyle hasn't had the best track record in the past few years but NASCAR will never find a racer more fond of the sport than Kyle Petty. Even though he struggles he continues to race because it's his life and he loves to do it. What are your thoughts on this?

Also if Kyle doesn't return to the #45 next year who do you think will take over the ride?
True, IluvRS. What number do you think they'd change it to if Kyle isn't put back in?
So, so true Christina C. I was glad that Petty Enterprises found a partner at first but now I can't believe it may put Kyle out of his car.

Yes it is, Mr. VP. Yes it is. I know Kyle never finishes that well but he's a true veteran of the sport and he deserves to retire when he wants to. I hope they decide to let him run another year.
 
As far as Kyle being so into the sport, I thought back in the day he REALLY wanted to be a country singer (LOL sorry). I don't know if it's true, but if Kyle is not in the 45, or another Petty, they ought to give it up. As if the COT, the bailout and the presidential election weren't bad enough. BUMMER.
 
I also hate that the majority owners kicked Kyle out of his own ride a Petty out of a Petty Enterprises car. I bet King Richard wasn't to pleased wi th it either. I say if Kyle is happy running the few races that he chooses to run let him be. I also can't see Petty Enterprises without a Petty. So tragic that the racing world lost Adam so young and that now they are kicking Kyle out of his deceased son's car. Adam must be striking those majority owners with lightning from up above. May he RIP.
 
I think the ride is going to be Chad McCumbee's, it's a shame it ended this way.
 
I heard that they were not gonna run the 45 cause that was Adams car, and if Kyle wasn't in it nobody was gonna be. That was also on the rumor mill so I don;t know how true it is.

The rumor mill said they were getting the 44 back. Not sure how that works with MWR having that number, maybe they are making a deal.
