enlightenment/satori? Why do so many Buddhists believe that having compassion is a quality of a Bodhisattva/Buddha/Arhat? To have a notion of what is "good" or "bad" to do/feel/express about or towards others is an example of conforming to the notion of duality. However the path to enlightenment is oneness and emptiness -- not caring for others. Enlightenment is an awoken state. Also, love and care is a desire... desires and attachments do not allow for bodhi.

Please don't reply with Nietzschean quotes like "what is done out of love is beyond good and evil"... because frankly we all know love is a quality of "goodness" -- an expression of duality which only leads to dukkha.
I practice Zen, both Rinzai and Soto.
