**This is a lot of info to read, but I really need some advice!!**
This summer, I was eating at a restaurant (a large chain) with a large party. Half of the party left early while my fiance, his parents, and I left after them. On our way out of the restaurant, I slipped and fell near the kitchen as soon as I hit the tile (the floor was carpet where I had been walking, pretty sure the tile was oily). I fell and hurt myself pretty bad, but all I could feel at the time was how bad my arm and shoulders hurt from trying to catch myself. They told the manager to come to me and as soon as he started asking questions, I started crying (from pain and embarrasment). He asked if they could get me some ice or anything, and I told him to not worry about it. He said because I hurt myself, he automatically had to alert their insurance and that he would be calling me the very next day. On the way home, my fiance's dad said that he could tell that me knee was what was going to be hurting soon because he saw me fall and said I hit my knee pretty hard. Sure enough, the next morning my knee was killing me. I waited for the rest of the week for a call from the restaurant or the insurance, but never heard from them. My family urged me to go to the doctor and to call the restaurant before going, but I thought to myself 'What can they really do for a knee?' So I let it go, just hoping they'd eventually call.
Well, it's now been about seven months, and still no call. I refuse to visit this restaurant because I hurt myself and they never even bothered to call, after they promised they would. I'm still having complications with my knee--sometimes it hurts so bad I can hardly walk. Is there anything I can even do about it now? Do I have any options? Would they pay for me to go to the doctor since it's been seven months? I'm so confused on what to do, but my knee really bothers me and I need to visit a doctor, but don't have the way to pay for it right now with the holiday season and other obligations. Basically--what are my options right now? Is it too late?
