Feeling not right

Hi, my concern is that lately I don't feel right. Most of the time I feel off, out of it sort of, and feel unbalanced like imagining Im going to fall over or to the ground. I find myself having to convince myself that Im alright.

Sometimes it gets extreme like Im going to faint...mostly when I am standing still for periods of time but it also happens when Im sitting. My vision will get spotty and the extremes. I start feeling worried and need to close my eyes and breath deeply.

I have fainted number of times before for no reason and have either vomitted or will sweat. But in the times I faint I know that nomatter what I do Im going to faint. Sometimes its like my eyesight gets weird as well, like I am drunk or stoned and my head gets fuzzy. I also feel really tired a lot of the time, irritated sometimes, moody, and just plain sick.

I also find that I have no sex drive. Im only 26. Help please.

Some, but not all, of your symptoms sound a little like they may be related to hypothyroidism - especially tiredness, feeling foogy, moody etc. When I have been super hypothyroid, I've had problems with double vision/blurry vision. I also had low blood pressure when hypo but I'm not sure if that's a true link. You might want to see an enocrinologist or at least have a GP check your thyroid function levels.

Hi there, I am sorry to hear that you feel this way. I get this way too, so I understand how difficult it is. Unfortunately, I haven't 100% figured it out for myself, but I have figured out different thing to check for and ways to help. First, get a blood test done to rule out anything that may show up. You may want to get a more detailed thyroid test than the typical blood test to make sure it isn't hypothyroidism. Blood pressure, blood sugar, and low iron can cause these kinds of feelings.

If it isn't anything showing up in blood tests, I'd suggest next looking into allergies. I notice that if my ears feel stopped up or if I have pressure on my sinuses (I feel like something is pressing under my eyes on my cheeks VERY often), it makes me feel dizzy and out of it. If I take a decongestant allergy medication (daytime formula though), it helps some, but not a complete cure. Also, I find that nose sprays seem to help me, but then my throat will hurt from all the drainage. I don't necessarily sneeze often or feel that I have allergies, so I think it's mostly in my ears and sinuses.

If not that, also look into your eating habits. Food sensitivities (not to be confused with allergies) can cause mild symptoms like feeling dizzy or tired. See if you notice any patterns of feeling worse anytime. I try to cut out too many sugars and carbs because they make me feel really tired when I have too many. I also try to eat more natural foods and less processed stuff to cut out those extra ingredients. Eating smaller meals more often can help too. I know many friends who tend to eat only once or twice a day, so they are getting all their calories in only a couple of sittings. I try to avoid this and eat less, but more often to help my energy and how I feel. You would likely feel sluggish/weak as well if your feelings were related to food.

Some other things are an inner-ear disorder (not allergy related) causing your balance to be off and thus making you feel dizzy and out of it, or TMJ disorder. If you happen to notice that you clench or grind your teeth (maybe while sleeping), I heard this can cause those symptoms too. I have noticed some jaw soreness on myself, so I am going to look into TMJ disorder as a possibility. Also, are you taking any medications that may affect this? I take Prozac and I know it makes me feel like that a little, but I feel that way ANYWAY before taking it. I also take birth control and I know some people who feel that way from it, although I don't plan on stopping it.

It could also very well be a mixture of different things! Unfortunately this can be a tricky one to figure out.
