Honestly, having greater skilled American workers would do more for corabating the illegal immigration "problem" than any legal approach I can think of. Money spent on Mike Rowe's plea for a Campaign for Skilled Labor would do more to help legal residents find employment than any money spent on building walls or requiring private business to do a military security clearance level background check on prospective employees.
 
You can't have European-style universal healthcare and open borders. That system would collapse in a hurry. Unless you want to pass a big VAT on all purchases to pay for it, that would be one way to get some big money from illegals on our soil.

How could you get "immigrants have stopped paying taxes" out of "it would stand to reason illegal immigrants would pay more taxes when the economy is in relatively better shape than it is now"?

Furthermore I never brought up the tax thing, why do you keep grilling me on it like I give a shit? Illegal immigrants are illegal whether they are paying taxes or not.
 
Is your argument going to have anything to do with illegal immigration existing in part because of the adverse influence of mandated minimum wages on the function of a free market?
 
This thread is full of the usual apologists and flawed logic. Anybody who wants to see what illegal immigration really does can take a trip to Montgomery County Maryland. In less than 10 years it went from one of the most prosperous and nicest counties to live in the US, to the county with some of the highest crime in the DC area with a massive gang and poverty problem, while across the river in VA Prince William County continues to recover from it's previous infestation with rising property values and a declining crime where even the large legal immigrant community has had to acknowledge that since the law in VA changed things have improved greatly.

They are arguing that it would be unconstitutional if only a certain group, like green people or something, smoked weed. The problem with that analogy is that not all illegals are South American and the law is not set up to single out a certain race of people or whatever, the rules for illegal immigration are applied equally to all people. In fact, illegal racial minorities from Africa and Central/South America are often treated BETTER than illegal whites from Europe or whatever.

What I don't understand is why people just assume someone is racist if they don't like illegal immigration instead of assuming that they just don't like ILLEGAL immigration.
