Mine has now changed to a screen of static fuzz. Mine won't turn on or off, can't access the menu. Nota.

It's just about six o clock now.

Ok I unpluged it pluged it back in and it is working. It's six o clock now.

Thanx 4 the updates everyone.

Mine is down as well. Just another reason to ditch BEV as soon as winter is over. What a joke! To answer your question dgour98 re 6100....a resounding YES! Thank goodness I rent. Best decision I ever made was not to buy.

Yup mine is down too. Called the number but it's disconnected. So I called 310-bell and went through emily.. When emily finally put me through to support I got hung up on agagin. So I went through emily for sales to get somebody. This guy telle me that everyone with a 6100 is getting the same issue. Just leave it on and it will return to normal within a few hours.

Please do post back when ya get yours working so I can check mine. I'll do the same.

My 6100 also has to download the guide at least 3 times before it works. It gets to the last few bars and then starts over again. What a piece of junk this receiver is. Coupled with the freezing issue, HD FTA's are starting to look more attractive all the time!!

My old 4700 was stuck in 'waiting for sat.signal' this afternoon too. I thought the old girl was pooched. It would aquire the signal ,display a picture then the picture would turn to snow yet the power light was on. Then it would power its self off. It would cycle like this over and over. I unpluged it to see if it would reset. Checked signal strength and was in the 80's no problems with that, even did a check switch that made no difference. It came back to full function around 4 pm or so . No problems since...Wished I checked my 2700 and my 6100 too. Just thought the 4700 had died. Did all reciever types take an update or something ?

I don't have a 6100 but those that do might want to give this a shot to see if they get anywhere. Figure out how many hours you are without service due to a problem on their end and then ask for a credit of that amount. Just take your monthly bill and divide it by the number of days (usually 30) and then divide by 24. This will give you an amount per hour and then times that by the number of hours that you were without service and ask for a credit of that amount on your bill. Likely more hassle than it is worth but in my current dislike of Bell (due to internet issues) anything is worth a shot.

On that note, that darn 6100 i've had it since October.. the guide keeps reloading constantly and at 3/4 thru it stops and then restarts. I need to manually shut it off sometimes to get the guide to load properly. I'm renting it. Are all 6100 crap?

Same thing here...
They replaced it twice under warranty and the problem is still there...

And for the downtime of today, the CSR I spoke to said that almost everything was down this afternoon except 9200, 9242, 3100 and 6141 if I recall correctly...

I think that it is a software glitch. If you power down your receiver every night to allow the guide to download, the problem will go away.

I had a friend call me today saying his 4700 sufferred the same fate. Haven't heard if it's working again or not.

But how current is that page? It looks pretty generic to me. I don't see anything there that implies a swap is imminent?

The faq mentions the 6141, which is pretty recent.

(Yesterday my 4700 was failing to sync and rebooting like others have mentioned, so it wasn't just the 6100)

My 6100 is dead. No prower at all. Did anyone have any problems with getting no power?? Tried changing to another plug but nothing. This 6100 isn't 5 months old.
