Features I am looking for

I am very happy with the reception I have with my Verizon Motorola e815 in the bay area and when I travel.

I use the MP3 player, the video player (buggy), and the browser (for WAP email and WAP google etc) and of course the phone part.

Biggest drawbacks:
* no airplane mode
* can't listen to MP3s and surf at the same time
* no java or windows, so can't put any other apps on the phone
* no stop watch / timer
* no bluetooth sync, no file transfer (without hacking phone)

Can anyone suggest a phone that has the above features and still has very good reception? I'm not glued to Verizon, but I didn't like Sprint's customer service and T-Mobile reception stinks. I might consider Cingular and would keep Verizon just for the reception.

Well it looks like if you want to stick with Verizon you might have to go the PDA/Smartphone route. I think that those are the only phones that you can actually put outside programs on. You just have to decide if the coverage is worth crappy phones. good luck

I had t-mobile and the reception/coverage really really sucked, so I won't go back to them, but does Cingular have better phones?

Smartphones sound interesting - can you play music and surf at the same time?
