Favourite TV Chef?

Do any of you remember when she said that the easy way to get golden syrup out of a tin is to put it in a hot over but forgot to tell viewers to remove the lid first
 
Apparently the only job she's ever had in a restaurant was based at the sink.

I agree about Jamie Oliver - another whose stuff works.

I'd also add the Hairy Bikers as being good. Tried a few of their recipes from TV programmes - unpretensious but very tasty.
 
Well I watch them all and then buy all their cook books...:D

Rick Stein produces some of my favourite dishes, presents very well and comes across as a nice bloke (as long as I don't think about him leaving his wife for the 20 year old production assistant...stupid sod) , but trying to replicate his dishes at home often requires
 
Even though i'm not much of a seafood fan Stein is probably my favourite tv chef. I regularly watch his programs. Just watched one.

I prefer the meat offerings of Food Heros, France, Mediterrannean, Asia and looking forward to his new series on Spain.


I watch alot of food programs so like most of the chefs that have been listed. Never watched Nigella though.



A couple that are not on the list are
Mike Robinson - He's had a few series that are sometimes shown on Good Food. He's a rustic kind of chef and doesn't tend to do arty farty fancy food. Just good big portions of usually British & French food.




and possibly my all time favourite, the lovely Ching-He Huang. Not just a pretty face but can knock up a home style takeaway favourite in minutes ;)
 
How is his garden a "big fake"??

You do realise that Jamie's sourcing for most of of veg ingredients in his restaurants come from his "big fake garden". Plus he's also a supplier to his dad's restaurant.

His garden is not just for show, first & foremost it generates revenues & saves him money from buying from external suppliers too.
 
Remember the wonderful gardener that worked for Jamie. Was he called Brian?, anyway he and Jamie seemed to get on really well. Wonder if he still works for him?
 
Gino D'Campo :D He's a legend. Also love Jamie Oliver.

And Gordon Ramsay's a bit of a ****, but he's a good chef and I think I'm going to see him live :D

I don't get the love for Nancy Lam personally and would have thought Delia Smith would have far more votes as she is very good at teaching simple dishes. Certainly I can't be alone in enjoying her early cookery programmes :o

Not a lot of love for the cack-handed Sophie Dahl :D
