Favourite Star Wars moment

I am not ashamed to admit it, but I am a huge Star Wars fan. That is the original three films.
Anyway, I was reading this story

And it got me thinking what my favourite Star Wars bit is. I would say it's prbably the opening bit in Star Wars, when the huge ship flies over, and then Darth Vader walks in.

It's all downhill from there.

What does everyone else think?

The first film, when Obi-Wan sacrifices himself to Darth Vader for Luke Skywalker....

"You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."

And the bit where Leia kisses Luke is kind of kinky...:D

Kinky in an unknown act of incest kind of way :D

My favorite parts in a new hope was where Han takes control of the intercom & asks the person on the otherend how they are.

Also loved the bit where Chewbacca refuses to go into the pit & Han kicks him in there.

My favourie Star Wars moment is when Jar-Jar is tortured for hours on end with acid, lightsabres and emo music.............or that could just be my imagination, or some kind of wishful thinking.

My favourite Star Wars moments:

"I love you."
"I know..."

Anakin and Obi-Wan fight in III

The part where an Ewok dies battling the Empire and his little mate goes up to him, and calls his name a couple of times whilst nudging him, the realises that his friend is dead. This was an importan moment for me, because it told me two things that a child eventually neeRAB to know - that war has casualties, and that even teddy bears can die too.

Things change with time & age, sadly. But I can remember the epic moment when I watched TESB on it's opening night back in the day at the local flea pit. When Vader said "Luke - I am your father" EVERYONE in the cinema gasped....amazing moment.
Overall I'd personally go for the Death Star's destruction in Episode IV.
My favourite line is "Impressive...most impressive!"
I'd better stop now I'm starting to feel ashamed.

Actually, he says "No, I am your father".

Whilst all time moment of character cool has to be "I love you", "I know", the part that still gives me goose-bumps is the bit early is the first film where Luke looks into the twin sunsets - feathered 70s hair blowing in the breeze - whilst John Williams's magnificent score plays.

That moment, to me, is movie perfection.

For me it's the opening theme. You get the 20th Cent. Fox searchlights logo and the drum roll. Then 'A long time ago, etc, etc...', then a slight pause and BAM, the massively loud opening first note, followed by possibly the greatest them tune ever (maybe a tie with Jaws). Goosebumps everytime.

Best scene hey!!! Mmmmm, well I know as soon as I write this I'll think of another, but here goes:

When Lando complains about Vader taking Leia after Solo is frozen.

Int: Cloud City halls, outside of room where Han Solo can be heard screaming whilst being tortured on some sort of pointy, sparky thing.

Vader (to aide): "Have the Princess and the Wookie brought to my ship"

Lando: "That was never part of our agreement, nor was giving Han to this Bounty Hunter"

Vader: "Perhaps you feel you are being treated unfairly"

Lando: looks down in submission "No"

Vader: "Good....It would be unfortunate to have to leave a garrison"

then a sumptuous oboe slowly goes through the the first few bars of the imperial march, seriously menacing. You're really hating Vader right now.

NB: This is from memory so apologies for any mistakes.

Thats certainly one of my favourite moments.

Love the versoin of this in Family Guy: Blue Harvest.

"He doesn't like you! I don't like you either"

"You don't even know me!"

"You know what? That's fair. I'm Pignose and this is my brother-in-law Scott. He's visiting from Hoth."

"I love you..."
"I know"

Han knew how to make sure he wore the pants in that relationship...

Or when Luke goes into the Dark Side cave to face his destiny/himself/Vader's image.

"Mos Eisley Spaceport - There has never been a more wretched hive or scum and villany" - Classic Lucas. SounRAB great yet no one would ever actually say it :D
