Favourite scenes from films

A couple that come to mind -

When the watchfires light up in sucession in 'Return of the King' - as the camera pans over the lanRABcape with that fantastic music. It gives me goosebumps every time.

The Alejandro/Elena 'swordfight' in The Mask of Zorro. Sexy :D

It's a bit sick, but the scene with the cat from The Boondock Saints - probably shouldn't make me laugh quite as much as it does :o

Die Hard.

Roof exploding and Bruce jumping off with the fire hydrant tied around his waiste. Shooting the glass to get in.

... and the bit where he pushed the chair with the explosives down the elevator shaft.

Oh yeah. Aliens.
Hicks jumping through the window to save Ripley!
And HuRABon saying "Christ kid!! Look out!" :D

X - Men...when Wolverine gives his powers to Rogue towarRAB the end so she survives

Terminator 2...Sarah's dream of the future

Lion King....Death of Mufasa

Batman Begins...When he first wears the batsuit properly

American History X....Basketball scene (and most of the flashbacks)

American Gangster....When he just walks out into the street and shoots you know who

Star Wars IV: The Empire Strikes Back...Events leading to the escape of Leia, Chewy, Lando etc, then we go back to battle between Vader and Luke

Another scene in The Usual Suspects - a great cinematic trick - when the guys are in the prison cell talking. The camera pans around from one to the other and Verbal Kimt is definitely NOT in the cell, until he speaks and there he is, sitting on the bench, whereupon he's introduced as "Verbal" Kimt and McManus says "Yeah, I was gonna tell you to shut up!"
Have a look on the DVD - he's definitely not there!

Dirty Harry- the "do you feel lucky" sequence near the end.

Die Hard- dropping the explosives down the lift shaft.

Speed- jumping the gap in the road

First Men In the Moon- falling into the city opening

Suspiria- the initial arrival of Suzy Banyon in the driving rain

Vertical Limit- where one climber slips over and slides over the edge of the cliff

On Her Majesty's Secret Service- the bobsleigh chase

Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels...

Big Chris (aka Vinny Jones) bashing someones head in a car door when his mobile phone rings, he stops trying to stove this blokes head in and answers his phone with...bonjour!

I nearly broke a rib I laughed so much :)

Also the scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid where they are being chased and they come to a deep ravine with a river at the bottom.
They sit down and look at it. Paul Newman says they've got to jump and Robert Retford says no.
When Paul Newman asks why Retford says "I can't swim".
Paul Newman laughs and says "Hell! The fall will probably kill you" and they both stand up, step back and run and jump yelling as they go.

My favourite little bit in that scene is the little apologetic shrug Robert Retford gives after admitting he can't swim.
