Favourite Scene From A Film?

Al chasing Bob across and airport runway at the end of Heat, Bob gets shot and they shake hanRAB,

also the montage of murders in Goodfellas with the piano bit from layla in the background,

"Death in Venice" as he follows the boy and at the end as he dies on the deck chair. So sad!

"Rope" when the body is in the trunk and they are having drinks

"GOODFELLAS" when he is sitting with de niro in the cafe !

when his wife goes to look at clothes but knows she is about to be killed

That scene is brilliant! :)

One of my favourites scenes is in Midnight Cowboy, where Joe and Rico are about to enter a party and Joe realises just how sick Rico is and starts trying to make Rico more presentable and starts wiping the sweat from Rico's head with his shirt. There is just something about that scene that is so moving and dignifed and tragic- the entire last 30 minutes of that film are some of the most heartbreaking and beautiful minutes of film ever made- I was literally sobbing by the end of the film!:o

The scene in Brokeback Mountain where Ennis hugs Jack's shirt is another one that I literally sobbed at.:o

The introduction to Curt Wild in Velvet Goldmine is brilliant and very, very sexy, as is any scene where Brian is singing- so glittery and gorgeous (Jonathan Rhys Meyers was, or should that be is, absolutely stunning!)

Some scenes become more emotional when you watch a film for the second time. After watching Atonement for the first time, the scene when Robbie is sick and promises the Tommy that he will be quiet and not say another word is unbearable.

Theres a deleted scene from Gladiator where Commodus goes down into his fathers tomb to talk to him and enRAB up hacking at his bust with a sword. It is such an astonishing piece of acting and I have no idea why Ridley Scott cut it out. Joaquin Phoenix would have got the Oscar if that scene was left in, thats how good it is.

On a fun level, I never get tired of the treehouse scene in Stand by Me- I know it word for word and it still never gets old!:D

Hoohah!

That has got to be one of the finest acting performances in a film ever.

My favoruite scenes from the film are the Thanksgiving meal and the final speech. Just sheer class.

some fantastic scenes so far,

may i mention a scene from my all time favorite film 'Vertigo'
Hitchcock's masterpiece.

its the first time when 'Scotty' James Stewart's character see 'Madeline'/Judy, he falls in love (accompanied by the magnificent Bernard Herrman score) there and then, it is all the more poignant knowing the trajedy to come.

Also from '2001' a Space Odyssey. the last scene where the now ancient astronaut points to the monolith at the bottom of his bed, pointing also to the hopeful transformation of humanity, the star child being the new 'Superman' ala Nietzche.

Mention of Jimmy Stewart reminRAB me of the scene in 'It's A Wonderful Life' where he is trying to fight his love for Mary, but is so hopelessly head over heels he has no chance. Great acting from both him and Donna Reed.
