favourite non-English language film?

Apparently not when it comes to the unimaginative plebs in Hollywood. To be fair though, if you look at Battle Royale some parts of America don't even know it exists because its been banned. Studio's sell to the masses, which unfortunately for some in the States, means they have to dumb it down to a poor second to the original.
 
Sorry too hard to limit myself to one movie I love so many foreign language movies.
After a hard fight with myself I came up with


Salaire de la peur, Le 1955 aka Wages of fear

Shichinin no samurai 1954 aha Seven Samurai

Foreign movie I most want to see Ikiru


Its sad my movies are all from years ago but then the chances of seeing a top foreign movie in the cinema are pretty remote.
That is apart from recent Action movies like house of flying daggers and the like.

So my exposure to foreign cinema is usually pre 1960s
 
Probably Cinema Paradiso, though I still haven't bought it on dvd because it seems so expensive everywhere. I'd like the special edition but haven't seen it for under 20 quid!
