Favourite Musical film?

Not sure about West Side Story. I absolutely adore the musical, and I think its fair to say it's probably one of the most important pieces of music of all time, but the film doesn't really do it for me. I just find it difficult to take seriously.

My personal favourite would be Dancer in the dark by Lars von trier, a very underrated and truly stunning film. :)

Another vote for Hairspray (2007's one only though!)

Grease & High School musical also

Plus I love the oldies Annie, The Sound of Music & Summer Holiday ( :o )

Sound of Music
Little Shop Of Horrors
Hairspray
The King & I
Kiss Me Kate
My Fair Lady (but I prefer the soundtrack with Julie Andrews singing)
Singing In The Rain

I'm hoping the rumoured Evil Dead: The Musical : The Movie is going to come to light as the show is brilliant!

But any musical is generally fine by me. Oh, except Rocky Horror, which I've just never really got into, despite my efforts...

I like Chicago! But I also like Grease... and Guys and Dolls and the Wizard of Oz and Moulin Rouge and My Fair lady and... ok I can go on forever!

Sorry I can't have just one

I love of course

1/ Grease
2/ The Rocky Horror Show
3/ Oliver!
4/ High School Musical 1+2
5/Calamity Jane
6/ The Sound Of Music
7/ Moulin Rouge

Okay I will stop now. I guess I just like musicals.

Must also give a 'yay' for The Committments.

Great music and some of the best lines in any film.

"We're not travelling in that heap of shit!"

"Ahhhh Buddy Holly's last worRAB........"
