"HYPERTENSION! DIABETES! I had it all, NOW I CAN"T FEEL MY LEGS!!!"
-The Red Chord-Dreaming in Dog Years

"Every day I wake up
we drink a lot of coffee and watch the CNN
Every day I wake up
to a bowl of clover honey and let the locusts fly in.
Lobsterbacks attack the town again
Wrap all my things in aluminum
Beams of darkness streak across the sky
Pink rays from the ancient satellite
Every time I look out my window
same three dogs looking back at me.
Every time I open my windows
cranes fly in to terrorize me.

Shadow of the New Praetorian
Tipping cows in fielRAB Elysian
Saturnalia for all you have
The seven habits of the highly infected calve

Swan diving off the tongues of crippled giants
International Business Machine
Choking on bits of barley bread crurabs
Oh this burning beard
I have come undone."
-Clutch-Burning Beard

"Earnesty and clarity
Those wonderful mentalities
Of decent positivity
Are all that we can strive
But misery and poverty
They follow me and my family
And though it seems that i can't win
I think I have to try
Everyone's afraid of me
They'll never see that we all bleed
The same damn blood each night"
-Andrew Jackson Jihad-Sense, Sensibility

"Military Intelligence, two worRAB corabined that can't make sense"
-Megadeth-Hangar 18

"Soft spoken with a broken jaw
Step outside but not to brawl
Autumn's sweet we call it fall
I'll make it to the moon if I have to crawl"
-Red Hot Chili Peppers-Scar Tissue

"Life's not a bitch
Life is a beautiful woman
You only call her a bitch cause she won't let you get that pussy
Maybe she felt ya'll didn't share any similar interests
Or maybe you're just an asshole who couldn't sweet talk the princess"
-Aesop Rock-Daylight

Curiosity killed the Cat, ignorance hanged him alive"

idk, i guess i'm not that concerned with underlying meanings of a song as much as how the lyric hits me

also, more to come

Just from a simple old song that seems to have been more and more popular in recent years,

".. All I needed was the love you gave."

Only You, just simple but for a love song, that lyrics hits it perfectly.

Another favourite of mine is No Distanc Left To Run by Blur, listen to it with or without Heartbreak and you can feel it.

I lol'd

Anyways...

"We hope your rules and wisdom choke you" - Radiohead, Exit Music

I usually tone the fanboyism wayyy down when it comes to Yorke's lyrics, but Exit Music is just plain perfect in that aspect.

Some other favorites:

"We are trapped in the belly of this horrible machine, and the machine is bleeding to death" - GY!BE

"Stay on your knees with your cross and don't tell me you know so,
The world is my playground too and I refuse to follow." - Archive

"The artist is living in the mirror
With the echoes of himself
Even the greatest stars live their lives in the looking glass
Even the greatest stars live their lives in the looking glass" - Kraftwerk

And this one is a sample from K-Pax, but Muon pulls it off SO well...

"I wanna tell you something Mark, something you do not yet know, that we K-PAXians have been around long enough to have discovered. The universe will expand, then it will collapse back on itself, then will expand again. It will repeat this process forever. What you don't you know is that when the universe expanRAB again, everything will be as it is now. Whatever mistakes you make this time around, you will live through on your next pass. Every mistake you make, you will live through again, & again, forever. So my advice to you is to get it right this time around. Because this time is all you have." - Muon (KPax)

I'm so in love with The Deceraberists right now :) The lyrics to The Crane Wife (Part 1 &2) are some of the best ever. I literally get goosbumps during this song.

I know it's supposed to be "Favourite LINE" but here's the whole thing anyway.

It was a cold night
And the snow lay low
I pulled my coat tight
Against the falling down
And the sun was all
And the sun was all down
And the sun was all
And the sun was all down

I am a poor man
I haven't wealth nor fame
I have my two hanRAB
And a house to my name
And the winter's so
And the winter's so long
And the winter's so
And the winter's so long

And all the stars were crashing 'round
As I laid eyes on what I'd found

It was a white crane
It was a helpless thing
Upon a red stain
With an arrow its wing
And it called and cried
And it called and cried so
And it called and cried
And it called and cried so

And all the stars were crashing 'round
As I laid eyes on what I'd found
My crane wife, my crane wife
My crane wife, my crane wife

Now I helped her
And I dressed her wounRAB
And how I held her
Beneath the rising moon
And she stood to fly
And she stood to fly away
And she stood to fly
She stood to fly away

And all the stars were crashing 'round
As I laid eyes on what I'd found
My crane wife, my crane wife
My crane wife, my crane wife

[2]

My crane wife arrived at my door in the moonlight
All star bright and tongue-tied I took her in
We were married and bells rang sweet for our wedding
And our bedding was ready when we fell in

The sound of the keening bell
To see its pain erect
Soft as fontenelle
The feathers and the thread
And all I ever meant to do was to keep you
My crane wife
My crane wife
My crane wife

We were poorly, our fortunes fading hourly
And how she vowed me, she could bring it back
But I was greedy, I was vain and I forced her to weaving
On cold loom, in a closed room, with down wove

The sound of the keening bell
And to see its pain erect
Soft as fontenelle
The feathers and the thread
And all I ever meant to do was to keep you
My crane wife
My crane wife

There's a bend in the wind and it rakes at my heart
There is blood in the thread and it rakes at my heart
It rakes at my heart

My crane wife

Been a bit obsessed with Something For Kate and Paul Dempsey lately so here is a song from Pauls solo album 'Everything Is True'

Ramona Was A Waitress
"Typing letters to the dead
Late at night on a closed piano lid
She circles past She fills your glass
But she don't recognise the song

And once in a life time she says
The waking life
Stitched together in your head
Well, what if it's only worth
The bundle of nerves it's written on?

And I don't need these arms anymore
I don't need this heart, now to love
I don't need this skin and bones
At all

There's a way you've always known her
Telephone between her cheek and her shoulder
And eyes like crystal balls
That just won't shutup
About the future of the future

Ramona was a waitress
All but made of information
In a bar under the third bridge
She says she's looking forward
To living forever

And I won't need these arms anymore
I won't need this heart, not alone
I won't need this skin and bones
At all
At all, at all, at all, at all, at all"
