I'm gonna change this thread's title to something more appropriate. I'm sure the OP won't mind (PM me if you do).

On that note...

Uh huh huh...huh

I've always loved this song, yet for some reason I never really paid attention to the lyrics, which are really good actually.

Talking HeaRAB- The Great Curve
Sometimes the world has a lot of questions
Seems like the world knows nothing at all
The world is near but it's out of reach
Some people touch it but they can't hold on

I remeraber the train headed south out of Bankok
Down toward the water

It's amazing cos on its own that doesn't really seem like much. But in the context of the entire album and with the melody and delivery it's given, it's the climax of the whole record.

One line, that it alone gives me the chills:

The summer had inhaled and held its breath too long.
The winter looked the same, as if it had never gone.
- Comin' Back To me, Jefferson Airplane

I love this song because it's just outrightly goofy and fun...

Regurgitator - My Friend Robot

I got a brand new friend, he's a robot
and he is my man, and he's megawatt
he doesn't pretend
never lies, never cheats, never steals from me

I trust nobody else with my secrets
I can depend on his sequence
Logical patterns i trust in his hard drive, relax, I can unwind

I got a friend, and he's a robot man (robot man)
I got a friend, and he's a computer man (computer man)

I know there are some humans who can't know
there is nobody so day-glow
constant companion, who knows all the action, can calculate fractions

And he is zeros and ones and i know this
He is not flesh and he can't kiss
But who neeRAB humans when humans get angry and humans get ugly

I got a friend, and he's a robot man (robot man)
I got a friend, and he's a computer man (computer man)

I got the greatest friend, he's a robot
Always begins, just non-stop
computer language, while making a sandwich, converting the average

And he is always such fun, and he's nuraber one
He's taking the time and he can run
right through the night and he never sleeps and he never lies down

I got a friend, and he's a robot man (robot man)
I got a friend, and he's a computer man (computer man)

Be mine, sister salvation.
Juke-Joint-Jezebel is coming for my cremation.
Be mine, sister salvation.
Closer now - see the revelation.

:hphones:

Cause these humans treat humans like humans treat hogs
They get used up, coughed up, and fried in a pan
But I wasn't born to die like a dog,
I was born to die just like a man
I was born to die just like a man!

It's still us against them

And they're winning

Titus Andronicus- Four Score And Seven

Songwriting does not get any better than Townes Van Zandt

"Two lonesome dudes and an ugly horse passed by not long ago, they asked me where the action was and I said I do not know."- Two Girls

"Loretta, she's my barroom girl, wheres them sevens on her sleeve. Dances like a diamond shines, tells me lies I love to believe. Her age is always 22, her laughing eyes a hazel hue. SpenRAB my money like water falls. Loves me like I want her to."- Loretta

"I hate those people who love to tell you
Money is the root of all that kills, they have never been poor
They have never had the joy of a welfare Christmas"- I Will Buy You A New Life by Everclear

When I think of Bob Dylan in terms of lyrics, that's what pops to mind:

Oh god said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
- Highway 61 Revisited, Bob Dylan

It's not what we usually hear.

Hmm, you probably don't like these lyrics. Ok. But you can understand the meaning only when you read them all. I think there is nothing wrong in these lyrics.
